Dunno if anyone has the 6000 but it didnt half get slated in many of the reviews I just read! Bummer!!!!!So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable Christopher Reeve (1953-2004)0 -

Sorry to say this, but the Garmin i3 is a load of old tosh if you are a heavy user. I am and frequently have to re-check the route with my maps. As for being direct, from the roundabout near my home, to home, is exit 'c' and about 500 metres with 2 turns. Garmin can't get it into it's thick head that I'm not going to take exit 'd' and, via 6 turns, travel some 2.5km home. Every time. I've also encountered considerable delays caused by its incessant ability to suddenly turn off a main road, go through some remote village or housing estate, only to rejoin the main road 1km further along and 10-15 mins later!
The countryside is lovely where I work and unless I keep a constant check on the route, I can get to see far more of it than is needed.
None of the route preferrence and/or vehicle settings has made the slightest bit of difference. As far as in-town travel goes, it really falls into its own hopeless castegory being unable to cope with busy town driving and slow reaction times.
Trying to contact Garmin tech assistance (or any dept) is practically impossible and no help whatsoever.

Hi,
Do these prices include VAT? The Staples site states that they are for business's and VAT is not included.
Cheers

I just upgraded my mobile to a Nokia N95, the handset cost me £50 on upgrade (plus some discounts chucked in to keep me as a Voda customer!!). The handset has built in GPS and you can get a navigation upgrade so it acts as a sat nav. The bonus is that you can licence this navigation upgrade for anything from a few days up to a permanent licence with prices starting at a few quid. Now that's cheap if you just need it to go on holiday with but wouldn't normally use it.0

Do ya know, I think your'e right. I raved about this unit myself when
I first got it about a year ago. I haven't used it a great deal but everything
you've said above rings true. It would be intresting to set two different sat nav's up in the same vehicle then choose the same destination for both, see
what happens.!!!0 -
Just seen this on amazon for £158.98 with free p&p. They have it as a saving of 60 squidleys. The garmin has bluetooth, so it acts as a hands free telephone in your car. I have one and although the speaker isnt great, it is usable and better than 3 points on your licence.

Hi,
has anyone tried the Viaamichelin X-950? I picked one up yesterday in Asda for £109. I googled it but couldn't find many reviews - those I found were good though. Hubby has opened the box now so probably couldn't return it anyway? We want something easy to use - that is the main crieteria and it seems to be that. Any thoughts appreciated! Thanks0 -
I wanted a map of Florida for my Tom Tom, I bought a 2Gb card (on offer from PC World) £14.99 and downloaded the map from the Internet for Euro 35 a bargain at under 40 quid.
Lots of retailers put these memory cards on offer and they work in cameras, Sat Navs and as extra storage on your PC if necessary.
Tried the map to make sure it wasn't a dud and got some strange route from Lancaster to Florida.
Am going in a couple of weeks will let you know if it all worked when I get back.0
