There is a website called https://www.piginthekitchen.co.uk that does lots of varieties of 'free from' baking recipes. It's no longer updated so lot's of the pics are missing but the recipes and blog are still there.

Thanks Darpett - I'll have a look this evening :)

I find a lot of vegan/grain free recipes contain ground almonds but you can replace ground almond in most recipes with ground sunflower seeds. Whizz them in a blender until they are in crumbs, too much and they turn into butter.

    The above cake looks nice.

    Top tip XS :T

And thanks for the recipe. I was planning to make regular fairy cakes for all the other guests and get the kids to decorate them on the day. Now I can make a batch of free-from fairy cakes as well

Very interesting about the recipes - thank you all posters, but MWC, I'm sorry for your little nephew being so allergic. Hope it improves really soon.

As far as your pension pot goes - it *is* good, never mind what MAS says - I've retired on less than that, and even though its a case of needs must for me, and restricted activities cos of the fatigue, its still possible. You'll do fine, given where you already are.

Oh, and the kitchen! Mein gott, the kitchen - it's glorious! Thank you for posting the pic, its really lovely.

  • We've got guest tickets for a festival this weekend :T Shame about the weather forecast :( I've no get up go at the moment though so I think I'll need to have a nap before we head out!

I sold a box of eggs yesterday for £1.50 :T First time in ages that The Girls have laid enough eggs to sell.

Yesterday's dinner (nicoise salad) was mainly from the garden: mixed salad leaves, purple beans, new potatoes, cherry tomatoes, garlic, eggs and nasturtium capers :)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

  • Morning

I got soaked to the skin last night :( so glad that I'm not camping!

Back to the festival later but we need to do a few chores first and go to the shops to swap the coffee maker Mr MWC bought online (it's not orange enough :rotfl:)

  • The new orange coffee maker is lovely :smileyhea

The woodburner was installed yesterday without anything going wrong :T:rotfl: Just the replacement curtains to be fitted now (brought forward to next Thursday after I had a tantrum...) and then everything will be finished :j

My pre-party chore for this evening is to deep-clean the bathroom :( I managed to put it off yesterday as we had no water!
