 Christmas greetings from Canada :xmassmile
No Christmas hampers this year due to a combination of knowing that we would be away from 15/12 and lack of a working cooker They'll be back bigger and better than ever next year!
Mr MWC is in charge of Christmas dinner again this year - chestnut & sage soup followed by classic roast goose with cider gravy - I don't think he is looking forward to cooking in a strange kitchen... and one of my Christmas puddings for dessert
We arrive back in the UK on 27/12 and then it's non-stop until the New Year _party_

Happy New Year!
Just one New Year's resolution from me this year - regular MFW diary updates!
Frugal January has become Frugal For As Long As Possible after I counted the loose change pot/vouchers/loyalty points etc and it totaled £425  :T
Quick update:
- The Girls are well - fed up being confined to barracks though
- Mr MWC is still travelling most weeks with his new job
- Outstanding mortgage balance at end of 2016 = £52,525.25
- Regular IO mortgage payment is now £99.89/month
- No holidays booked (yet) for 2017
- No progress on the new kitchen design
- One yummy recipe to share - squash, sage & amaretti risotto

Good morning
Plan for today:
- Chub club...
- Finish meal planning for next week (I need to decide what I want to eat on the 3 days Mr MWC is away) and write shopping list
- Errands in town: pay coins into bank account, food shopping, drop a couple of bags of stuff at a charity shop, buy a 50th birthday card for a colleague and get a lovely photo of brother and nephew printed
- Dispatch 2 boxes of stuff to MM (Mr MWC agreed to part with 78 CDs (tip of the iceberg...) and quite a few DVD box sets :j)
- Arrange an appointment with a new kitchen designer

Chub club wasn't too bad - I'm 3.5 lbs over my goal weight. I'd like to get back to goal by the end of January and then lose another 5 lbs before I buy new spring/summer clothes.
Baked sausages with apples, onions, raisins & cider with mashed potatoes and flower sprouts/kalettes (try me free offer in Mr M) for dinner - absolutely delicious and just about within my WW point allowance!Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

I'm having a lazy Sunday morning
We have tickets to Celebrating David Bowie at Brixton Academy this evening  The tube strike is a bit of an inconvenience so I'm currently looking at alternative modes of travel... it could be a late night
Today's main meal is another recipe from Diana Henry's Simple - Moroccan-spiced chicken with dates & aubergine using up LO dates and served with salad leaves from the garden :T
So today I need to: pick salad leaves, clean chicken coop, clean bathroom, prepare breakfast/snacks and iron clothes for work tomorrow.Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
