  • I've made a start with 3 x nighties, 1 x bed jacket, 10 x knickers & 2 x jumpers in the bonmarche sale :)
Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
    Mortgage-free: January 2021
Retired: June 2022 (186 months early!)
  • I'm all by my lonesome :( Mr MWC has left for a 10-day trip to the US of A

    My plan for today:

    - keep busy!
    - order large birthday cake for my great aunt
    - meal plan & make shopping list
    - go to Waitrose to use vouchers/coupons (and get free coffee!)
    - laundry
    - a little housework, nothing too strenuous
    - clean chicken coop
    - potter in garden (weather permitting)
    - finish thank you notes
    - check RMS and prepare items for posting this week
    - think about work and make a list of priorities for tomorrow :(
    - go for a walk
Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
    Mortgage-free: January 2021
Retired: June 2022 (186 months early!)
  • If you fancy a visitor this coming week, let me know :)

Happy New Year to you both.

    Wow, she's doing really well!

Clothes - my mum (aged 89 and three quarters) often buys at McC, or however its spelt now, which used to be McKays - since your aunt is so petite, their clothes might be good, a lot of their stuff is meant for young teens, so that might be the same as adult petite. For cardis, t shirts that double as vests, that kind of thing?

  • I was delighted to hear your good news, so pleased for you, and for Mr MWC. Happier than I can express here. And very good luck with all your goals for the future.

  • I've been a bit lacklustre today and, therefore, not been quite as productive as I had hoped :(

    However,

    - the sink is still shiny :)
    - the kitchen floor is clean :)
    - the second load of laundry is nearly done and I hand washed a couple of items :)
    - no unnecessary spends at the supermarket but I did forget to look at my shopping list and consequently didn't buy fish fingers  bang goes the meal plan :rotfl:
    - it stopped raining just before it got dark so I was able to finish pruning my gooseberry bushes and raspberry canes :)
    - I went for a 4-mile walk this evening - 13,000+ steps today :)
    - Mr MWC has landed safely :)

I got this book for Xmas: http://www.firebox.com/product/7166/The-Geeky-Chef

    - it has a 'recipe' for fishfingers and custard in :D (actually a mustard-y mayonnaise, I think, but that spoils the Dr Who reference!)

First day back survived... although I did leave work early :p Not quite as focused and as productive as I had hoped but considerably better than I was before Christmas...

Last hamper gifted :T I think I'll give myself a few weeks off before I make marmalade for Christmas 2016 :)

Sharesave a/c activation code arrived today just as the share price dropped 3% I could still sell now for a significant profit but have decided to hold on to them for a little while longer...

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
