    But boo to harsh words with loved ones :( Mind, you could have gone for broke and asked, 'Could he please make sure that Afghan Carrot Hotpot was included in this month's plan.......' :rotfl:

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    We're having crumble for pudding tomorrow too - plum :D I cooked bread in the oven last night, so needed a filler :D I used buttermilk in the dough (overnight rise in the fridge) and spread yoghurt on the top to help browning. Resultant loaf was really quite brioche like in taste/texture (but no butter actually in it iyswim).

    I won't be eating the crumble :( as I need to lose another 10 pounds before we go to Vietnam

    Your bread sounds delicious - our bread and cheese-making plans have gone on the back burner for a few months...

    (Very) belated happy New Year and Birthday MWC :)

    You've probably answered this one before, but do you or Mr MWC have Scottish roots? I ask as you seem very keen on Hogmany and Haggis Day.

    Also, if I'm not being cheeky, what do you invest in in your S&S ISA? Curious as you're a sensible sort :)

    Mr MWC is Scottish - his family moved south from the Borders when he was 16. We've just used a bottle of Traquair ale in the beef stew for tomorrow :cool:

    No idea ed :o It's Mr MWC's and I'm letting him get on with it without interfering! I hope I don't come to regret that decision :rotfl:

    I'm also from the Borders (won't say where as it makes me even less anonymous).

    Well, you've already achieved your first target MWC, so I'm sure you'll reach your target for your hols :D oooh, and just think of the fantastic flavours and exciting ingredients when you're there....... *gasp*....... food heaven :D

    I've got to find a *nice* beer for our beer and bean casserole for next Saturday - we'll be munching it whilst France v Scotland in the rugger is on. T'would be nice if I could get a tasty beer from either country, but it'll depend what I can get on a *student* budget :rotfl::D:D:D

    Aw, glad the girls had a runaround :T.
    A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
