Thanks everyone
I haven't done anything special today but will celebrate at the weekend when we have a houseful of friends/family visiting for haggis day.
Mr MWC is spoiling me by cooking (roast cod with za'atar & piyaz) AND washing up!
He's also been spending the grocery budget ~50p cash yesterday and £7.50 nectar points + 42p cash today.

Hey MWC - congratulations on your birthday
Well done MrMWC for spoiling you
I've borrowed 'Persiana' from the library (last year) and funnily enough, 'Piyaz' is one of the recipes that I copied out to tryWhat's the verdict? Worth me bothering?
Hope you've enjoyed your day, and hope that the weekend brings lots of fun and merriment too

Better than I thought GreyingTBH I wasn't very impressed when Mr MWC wanted to put it on the plan (and even less impressed when I realised that I'd be eating it on my birthday!) but it was tasty.

TSK! fancy MrMWC trying to stuff you with 'elf-i food - and on yer burfday an' all......... :rotfl:Funnily enough, I was looking through my notebooks last night and I was thinking that I've not tried any of her recipes yet..... It isn't going to happen in February either, as I've done the majority of meals on the planner out of my student cookbook. Ah well, something to look forward tooI should get round to making her version of focaccia - that could accompany soup or something
Have a great evening.

I don't mind elf-i food on my birthday (I am on a diet after all!) but I thought a cold bean salad was all he was planning to serve
That's the first recipe he's made from Persiana but he's been raving about the book so I don't think it'll be the last

Thanks SS
Airline has finally coughed up and paid the 250 Euros compensation from a cancelled flight in September :j
It was my turn to spend the grocery budget today - £10 nectar points and 36p cash on ingredients for a raspberry trifle for Sunday and milk. Although it wasn't actually cash - rather embarrassingly I only had 25p lurking at the bottom of my handbag and I had to pay by CC
