  • Hello

As lovely as it is to spend time with family & friends, I'm REALLY looking forward to spending tomorrow at home/in the garden with Mr MWC & The Girls :)

I counted the loose change pots today - £68.72 :) So that's our grocery budget set for Frugal January: £120 of nectar points, £7 clubcard vouchers, £19 of love2shop vouchers (from RM surveys) and £68.72 cash :T

As the fridge/freezer/larder are groaning and as Mr MWC will be away for a couple of weeks, I'm expecting the budget to last well into February...

Eggs IN 4 (Miss Effie is laying again after being broody for ages)

    Mortgage-free: January 2021
Retired: June 2022 (186 months early!)
  • Morning MWC, I'm sending the girls an early Happy New Year and best wishes to you two as well :)

  • We've had a lovely day together :D

    A lie-in and a lazy morning
Yummy HM turkey, leek & rice soup for lunch
A 5 mile walk this afternoon
A picnic tea of cheese & biscuits, pate, spicy pear pickle and several glasses of port followed by Christmas pudding soaked in Grand Marnier & candied orange peel ice-cream

We popped into the butcher whilst out & about and ordered a chieftain haggis for Burn's night :T

Oh, DS always goes to a Burns Supper :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • We met "that woman's" daughter and son-in-law for the first time today (thought it was about time as my dad's been seeing her for 2.5 years!) and they were very nice :)

Pay day tomorrow and planning some jiggery-pokery to end the year on a mortgage milestone :D

SIL's dog had surgery to remove a massive tumour today :(
I probably would have had him euthanised but it's easy to say that when you're not so emotionally attached...

Just been catching up on your news. I was very impressed with your to do lists before Christmas - you were amazingly productive!:)

Thinking back to the Christmases when we'd spend a couple of days at MIL's and then a couple of days at my parents. Now they are not around, I wish we could still do the visits. And as much as we loved them and enjoyed seeing the family ....... It was always nice to get back home and have a couple of quiet days!

Hope SIL's dog gets over the operation. If he gets a few more good months of life, SIL will be delighted, I'm sure:)
    Early retired - 18th December 2014
