Making chicken feed of my mortgage

Saggy neck=whole new scarf wardrobe. If I cared enough...0

I'm not very good with scarves - well accessories in general really - I just haven't got the knack
I'm WFH today and joining Mr MWC on a 5:2 starve day (I've only eaten 180 calories so far but I'm starting to struggle...)
Mr MWC has finally sorted out his life insurance today - I hadn't realised it was outstanding or I would have nagged :rotfl:
Plan for today:
Work (of course :A)
Clean the chicken coop
Make a list of things that need doing before we go to IoW
Go for a walk via a supermarket
Make apple puree for last batch of lemon curd
Make cookies after eating dinner
Deliver gifts to neighboursMortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
Mortgage-free: January 2021
Retired: June 2022 (186 months early!)0 -
I've surprised myself... since my last post I've eaten 1 satsuma and nothing else :T Mr MWC is cooking cod with tomato & butterbean stew (300-ish calories) for dinner
Eggs IN 3 (Misses LRH, Tilly and Clarissa are doing me proud this December - I've not had to buy a single egg and I'll have at least 1 box, probably 2, to gift :T)
Eggs OUT 1 (for cookie-making this evening)
Plan for today:
Work (of course :A) - yes
Clean the chicken coop - done
Make a list of things that need doing before we go to IoW - not yet
Go for a walk via a supermarket - done
Make apple puree for last batch of lemon curd - apples are cooked I just need to push them through a sieve
Make cookies after eating dinner - still to do
Deliver gifts to neighbours - will do tomorrow nowMortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

Jumped on the scales this morning full of hope expecting a 2-3 lb weight loss... 1 measly lb... and, in Mr MWC's experience, I'll gain that lb back today
We picked the turkey yesterday evening (and none passed our lips) - 1 kg in the freezer, 400 g in the fridge for soup today, sandwiches tomorrow and the stock pot is on
Today I need to:
Send a few business e-mails
Wait in for the last couple of presents to be delivered
Take a walk to a different supermarket - just a few bits needed
Make lemon curd
Bake cookies
Assemble last few hampers
Deliver gifts to neighbours
Ask neighbour's daughter to chicken sit after giving her a tin of cookies!
Take my car to the carwash
Cook cranberries for cocktails on Christmas Eve (Canadian whiskey, cranberries cooked with cinnamon and star anise, apple juice and ginger ale)
Mr MWC is going into London for a catch-up/lunch with his boss and then he is going to cook a ham for later in the week :drool:Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

Yes, well, I too had a long list of things to achieve. But someone sent me an ecard with a stupid game attached that has wasted an hour out of my day so far :snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laugA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hey MWC - just wanted to let you know that you have inspired me to make a different bread tonight. I was trying (whilst typing) this morning to remember the other name for the *ingredient* that you make bread with, which is similar to a sourdough starter. All that kept popping in my brain was *mother*, but that's what you have if you've a ginger beer plant, or a vinegar jar. Course, half way through the day, I remembered it was Poolish I was thinking about (will it get past the filter?). Anyway, whilst musing on this, my mind turned to Dan Lepard, from there it went to his beer bread, and then I came up with the idea of making bread using a bottle of *Bah Humbug* ale that I bought. We like the spicy/orange mulledness of this beer, so I wondered if it would make nice bread.
I've made up a batch of dough 80% strong white bread flour and 20% rye flour. It's in the fridge overnight and we'll see how it turns out!
Thanks for the inspiration m'dear!
I am also a woman in possession of some ditalini pasta, so I am *well 'appy*

Can you speak in English please GP.
Today I made a cake which looks suspiciously like THIS. Am hoping it will taste suspiciously like that also but that's probably too much to ask :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
