  • Hey MWC!

I picked up the Anjum Anand Butternut Squash curry, the *Hope & Glory* cupcakes (sound good with or without the topping :D) and I've got the spicy pear chutney too. Although I'm not a jam/pickle/chutney maker, that did sound nice, and if the heavens aligned and I got me hands on some donated cooking apples and a few YS'd pears - well, who knows what magic may happen? :D

The curry will definitely be made, as I took advantage of Ald* having B'nut squashes in the Super6 (on until next Wednesday COB, just in case anyone needs to know :D) and grabbed a couple this morning. I love Anjum's lemony spinach and veg hotpot, so it's great to have another highly recommended recipe of hers :D

Hello to the *girls* and I hope you have a great day - and an even better evening :D:D

  • Hi Greying & KC

Every AA recipe we've tried has been a keeper :T Her lentil cake (savoury) is very good as well, especially with tamarind chutney

Just having a quick break from housework whilst Mr MWC does the shopping. He's in a can't be @rsed mood regarding housework so I'll let him get on with shopping/cooking and I'll just clean around him/up after him...

Menu isn't too difficult - scotch broth, haggis/neeps/tatties or haggis lasagne or sausages (for the fussy child), cranachan or ice-cream, Scottish cheese & oatcakes

Still not entirely sure how we're going to fit 16 people in... :rotfl:

  • A quick coffee break! :coffee:

It's a beautiful sunny day here

Forgot to mention yesterday that the latest MOP takes us down into the £120s :j:j

Mr MWC was chatting to a neighbour this morning - they had the squirrel take up residence in their loft the day after we evicted it from ours!

    Right back to it...

    Thank you!

  • It's taking longer to clear up after 16 than it took to prep and cook for 16... :rotfl:

Had a great night - FIL addressed the haggis, Mr MWC said the Selkirk Grace and English haggis is delicious :D

Fussy child wouldn't eat sausages  but did manage to spell haggis from a tin of alphabetti spaghetti!!!

  • Morning MWC, I was thinking about you last night as we got into bed :rotfl: Mainly about how many times your dishwasher would be on :)

Sounds like a superb night - picky kids can be pretty irritating but at least the little one can spell.

Did you get the harsh weather yesterday afternoon with thunder, lightening, hail? Were the girls OK?

    Have a restful Sunday
