Does it give you an annualised figure to date or the like? 7% for the next 14 years seems a bit optimistic. Then again, I tend to predict 5% real growth when I'm doing cool things, like pension updates and analysis.

    No, it doesn't :(

    The projections are:

    5% - £74,800 (potential shortfall = £15,450)
    7% - £93,200 (potential surplus = £2,950)
    9% - £116,000 (potential surplus = £25,750)

    We pay £1,608.84/year (£134.07/month)

    We've paid in total £17,697.24 (£1,608.84/year x 11 years)

So our current fund value is worth 50% more than we have paid in

  • Eggs IN 5
    Eggs OUT 4 (dinner)

Poached eggs on a toasted muffin with a rasher of bacon each, fried tomatoes and mushrooms - all washed down with a mug of tea :D

The first batch of fruit for hedgerow jelly (crab apples, blackberries, bullaces, sloes and elderberries) is cooking. The rest will have to wait until tomorrow as I'm too tired.

Hi MWC - just delurking to say hello

I can't comment on any of the S&S ISA stuff - way beyond me. However, your meal above sounds delicious :)

    Hello BW

All things good here thanks MWC :) Although I don't post much - I always enjoy reading about 'the girls' along with the MFW bits n bobs
  • Good morning

The first batch of fruit has dripped overnight and I have 1.5 L of juice :) Just having a cup of tea before tackling the crab apple mountain...

The weather is grey and drizzly here but, ever hopeful, I have my first load of laundry in!

    Plan for today:

    - Make and steam Christmas puddings
    - Make hedgerow jelly
    - Make a start on crab apple jelly
    - Pick and freeze some rhubarb (thanks Tilly for reminding me)
    - Go for a walk with Mr MWC is the weather improves - it may need to be an urban one after all the rain we've had this week :(

  • Hi MWC, I'm roasting the rhubarb but I'm not sure it will make it as far as the freezer - it's my favourite :rotfl:

You are being so industrious I feel a little guilty

    Have a good day

  • I need some foraging instruction MWC - don't know if I'd recognise a Bullace or an Elderberry if it jumped up and hit me on the nose :rotfl:

Sloes, blackberries and rosehips are my limit at the moment but you've inspired me to do some research.

    Morning Fortune

Elderberries are easy although I think there are far fewer of them around to pick now (probably due to the popularity of elderflower!)

Bullaces are not so common - well not where I live! This is the first year I've found them, previously they've been gifted. They are bigger than a sloe but smaller than a damson.

Second batch of hedgerow jelly fruit cooking :)

  • In MFW news...

A letter from the N/wide confirms that our £5,000 MOP has knocked 11 months off the term of our further advance :T
