millington wrote:Hi,
I wondered if anyone can advise?
If say, I went overdrawn by £30 for example and the bank then charge me £30 fine, can I re-claim?
Also, if say a DD came out causing me to go £100 or more overdrawn, can I reclaim or is it only if you go a certain amount over your overdraft?
Lastly, I know I've been charged over the past 6 years but don't have a clue how much. How do I find out?
Many thanks
First off have a read of Martin's step by step guide and the first letter you need to send off is to request all the information on your account over the past 6 years, or 5 years if you are in Scotland.

Don't worry about it, they will probably go the whole length and then settle last minute. Barclays are exactly the same, they settled eith me just before the court date. Either way, get everything prepared as you go and don't panic, they just think that if they make you go the distance then you will back off.
Are you using Martins letters or CAG ones? on the CAG site there is a court pack (although it still has a couple of bits to be added) of all the paper work that you need should it go that far. If it does, just read through it and more importantly the OFT summary at the back, and you will know you will win. so will abbey.Debt £5600 all 0%0 -
Thanks. I've just re-read the article and saved the letter template. I couldn't see anything regarding my other questions though. Can anyone help with those?
Many thanks0 -

I already had the Egg loan from about 2002 and must have been calling to query something on this account. I do not recall the conversation or the call and always find this type of thing difficult to disprove, though I accept the call probably did take place. What I don't understand though is why I would have taken the protection in the first place, I never bother with all the extras they try to off load and I wasn't using the card anyway. Bit of a credit card tart you see :-)0 -
during the years of '99 to April '03 I was unmercifully charged by the halifax, barclays and royal bank of scotland. At which point i went bankrupt. i was discharged from my bankruptcy in April '05. If I left these banks unpaid because of my bankruptcy would I still be able to claim against them. I still feel bitter against them as I feel they was a contributing factor to my bankruptcy!0

miss_miggins wrote:...We are nearly at the same stage. Natwest's solicitors have submitted a defence and requested we send them a list of charges etc. We are still waiting for the letter from the court. Do I need to do anything as the website says 'just do nothing'?...
Why are they asking YOU for a list of charges levied by THEIR client?
The Courts look dimly on people being unco-operative but I think they are taking the proverbial.
I'd tell the solicitors you are not trying to hinder them but pose that precise question to them. It is their own client's data they are referring to, so surely it is up to them to obtain that directly from their client, not you?0 -

When the figures are worked out its useful to print out a few copies as you might also need to give a copy to the court.A visitor from consumeractiongroup, here to help you reclaim unlawful bank charges! Go get your money back!0 -
Hi
I've prepared the spreadsheets for the 8% interest and I've started to fill in the info on Moneyclaim.
I need to provide them with an address for Halifax - which address do I give? There seem to be dozens!
Thanks,
