Hi ..HSBCs 8 weeks runs out next monday (30th) am i right in thinking i will get a response from them this week? The only thing i have received from them is the Colin Langdale looking into it letter!0

Anyone have any idea about Compensation? And claiming it in a claim when you petition your bank?0
-
The claim is at court stage and you are entitled to interest now on judgement in your favour. Some stats from the first 98 pages of the success thread for your consideration:
HSBC - 115 cases of which:
72 cases settled for less than the amount claimed but for not much less than claimed, presumably without interest
32 cases were settled in full without the need for court and some after the first letter only
7 were settled for more than the claimed amount, no mention of court in these cases and I assume interest was given before court
Of 4 court cases noted:
2 were settled in full by, the bank did not defend and default judgement was awarded after 14 days
1 settled in full after court claim filed
1 settled for less after court claim filed and it was accepted by the claimant
Hope that helps and good luck
Thanks, I think I'll just accept the money then as the bank are going to defend and I don't want to end up with nothing. I wonder if I can ask for the £120 court cost back.0 -

Thanks, I'll do that. Hopefully they'll pay it!

Thanks Edinburghglass. I intend to ring the court tomorrow to let them know I am on holiday. I am even going to see if they can bring the date forward (if I ask nicely!). I have no problem with sending Barclays' solicitor everything I have, despite the fact that I know he has seen my list, because he called it "summarary in the least". My problem is the Court asking for copy statements. I simply don't have them, just the Exel schedule which I produced using the information. It is accurate, in both dates, sums, and reasons. I am worried that if I don't supply the actual copy bank statements to the Court they will dismiss my case for failure to comply. I can provide copies of everything else to and from the bank. I am happy to pay a further £10 for the information, but it won't arrive in the 28 days the Court have given me (or I doubt it will).0 -
ah right I just re-read your original post and see you say that the court ask you send the court and the bank everything. All I can suggest is you tell the court what has happened when you ring them and ask them if they want you to get the statements again.0

Hello,
I have followed the plan to the letter so far and till now have been fairly confident. However, my bank(Barclays) has now put in a defence and I am getting a bit concerned. At one point they offered me £1000, which I declined, I am claiming £1642, plus court costs of £120. On each occasion they have left it to the last minute to serve various papers, ie acknowledgment and defence. I suppose I would just like a little support as this money means a lot to me as I am a student. Anybody out there can help me?
