Just a quick question, when doing Mcol and you have to workout your daily interest can i just do a new charge list by using the calculator on this website or do i have to work it out from the moment i 1st printed out the original charge list and sent it with tne 1st letter asking back for my charges then times this by .000222 til today's date? Also do you put the original bank charge on MCOL claim form or the new calculated version?
Please can someone give me some advice.:o0 -
Don't know if this helps but interest template downloaded from this site does mine automatically if you have microsoft excel I think yours will as well, if not try starting again, on a new template copy out first line ie amount and date the computer should then give you a new interest figure.

In addition to my last post, the person lives & banks in Scotland but her husband lives in London, is there a possibility of her claiming in an English court?
The answers are in the Claiming in Scotland thread....

Reclaim your charges following the templates and timescales. Quite apart from the fact that the charges are unlawful in themselves then no they shouldnt have touched social security benefits. You may wish to advise them that according to:
Social Security Administration Act 1992
Miscellaneous
Certain benefit to be inalienable **
187- Subject to the provisions of this Act, every assignment of, or charge on-
(a)benefit as defined in section 122 of the Contributions and Benefits Act;
(b)any income-related benefit; or
(c)child benefit,
and every agreement to assign or charge such benefit shall be void; and, on the bankrupcy of the beneficiary, such benefit shall not pass to any trustee or other person acting on behalf of his creditors
If you have no other income going into the account then they did take the charges directly from benefits and they have lied to you. Very best of luck getting back every penny.
I too am in the same situation. I am a single parent and every charge that has come out of my halifax account has been taken from my benefits. I get child tax credit, child benefit and income support. I didn't realise that they are acting in the wrong taking my benefits. This is all i have to live on and some weeks i can't manage because they have taken my money at £39 a time.0 -
:money: Applied for details of past charges to Abbey last Sept. Within 2 weeks they sent lists of transactions, tons of the stuff. Charges not specified, we had to work all that out.
Family illness and time taken to analyse...now discovered that a huge chunks of the info is missing, 3-4 months from each of the past 5 yrs.
 Wrote to Abbey one month ago, pointing out that we had paid for the info and had not recieved it all. No response at all. Is the next step to write to the information commisioner??
I cannot proceed until I have this info (cannot accurately calculate the total charges). Or, should I write to the Abbey again. Don't believe in doing anything over the phone.
Is writing to the info commisioner going to cause big delay?? Any one know where they are based please.
I am very annoyed that big chunks have been left out, seems deliberate...but of course I am not cynical :rolleyes:0 -
Hi
I too am in the same situation. I am a single parent and every charge that has come out of my halifax account has been taken from my benefits. I get child tax credit, child benefit and income support. I didn't realise that they are acting in the wrong taking my benefits. This is all i have to live on and some weeks i can't manage because they have taken my money at £39 a time.
I have the same situation with the Halifax so much that I don't really use the account anymore only if i need to use my debit card then I pay money in and pay it staright back out within 10 mins. I changed my account to the RBS who seem to be pretty helpful. When I lost my business I had credit card arrears, I was having my money from child tax credit paid in along with my benefit and they kept taking the whole lot to pay off the credit card even though I had an arragement to pay, my only way out was to change banks.
Halifax request for refund sent 30/3 (not received)
Barclaycard requested list of charges sent 30/3 (received 2/4)
Natwest requested list of charges sent 30/3 (received 2/4)
Halifax CC requested list of charges sent 30/3 (received 2/4)
Barclaycard requested list of charges sent 4/4My Mission today is to have an opinion on everything.
If you don't like it well you will just have to lump it!0 -
This is my first time on this website and I would be grateful for any advice on my current situation. Fourteen days ago I settled with the Halifax for £2500. I Received a conformation letter saying that the money would be paid into my account in 14 days time, not 14 working days. Well the time is up today and nothing has been paid into my account and I keep being told to be patent by their complaints department. Is this just a delaying tatic or is they anything I can do to either speed up this process or do I just proceed with court action. Any help in this matter would be gratefully accepted.0
