    ?? I don't follow.
  • If the fee is being deducted from the salary then Hollybean has the right to park, if (as I know to be the case with ex-wife who works at a hospital) the Trust cannot provide enough spaces, its their problem. They're happy enough to grab the money off you, you've paid to park. If they don't like it, tough.

You can detect these things far better than I can, obviously you've done more time here and are more experienced!

I might be a bit naïve but I genuinely suspect a person has a problem with a PPC, the description so far is not beyond reality.

    So we'll see what happens!
  • Detect what? Am i missing something here? Way over my head lol
  • Balfour Beatty built the huge new QE Hospital in Birmingham and the new mental health units associated with it, there is very very little staff car parking and the various staff car parks are often full. Their contractors, Q Park, I think they call themselves, stamp around all day sticking "invoices" on every car they can find for spurious reasons- staff have to pay around £100 a year for parking, even if no spaces are available, which is horrendous for clinical staff who have to do patient home visits in the course of a day, and attend office meetings as well - parking is generally not available any where within a mile or more of the units!!! . While a lot of them ignore these "invoices" when the time comes to renew the permits, Q Park refuse to issue permits and threaten them with escalation and complaints to the NHS Trust HR department and disciplinary proceedings. Wish something could be done to stop the Q Park cowboys ripping off NHS staff like this. I bet the Yorkshire lot are pretty similar. Bunch of scumbags.
  • Is that what im looking at then? If i don't pay the fine then they will not renue my permt next time? Well they've got me then sigh

Here look, in no circumstances whatsoever do you pay that charge - for precisely the fact that it isn't a fine. You can live without a parking permit and for them to force to pay this illegal sum is blackmail. Let's hang on a while a see what happens. You won't have a threatogram for a good six weeks.
  • Ok, whatever you say, i will sit tight :)
  • But do keep us informed.
