How about sending them with a coolbox filled with yoghurts and cereal, banana's, ham, rolls, those sort of things. Even those mixed fruit tubs you can get in Mr T's.

is the event abroad some type of military training? just relax and get your partner to stop off for breakfast on the way. there's got to be some enjoyment surely?
Where they stay overnight is still a few hours from where the event takes place, and as it is very popular - it's a sell-out, they could do with being there as soon as they can, ideally when it first opens or not long afterwards. There may not be time to stop off and go somewhere. It wouldn't be like pulling into a motorway services in England.

They'll have plenty of enjoyment once they get there. That's why they don't want to delay arriving by stopping for breakfast, rather than having me do a pack -up.

As it sounds like a continental breakfast - why not add a couple of those pasturised yoghurts, or uht youghurts or whatever they are, because they don't need refrigerating - they're quite nice too.

I would rather eat cardboard than those belvita things - they're not my cup of tea.

Baby bells or those little pre-wrapped cheeses and some continental meat.
Aldi do those indiviually wrapped pan aux chocolate.

Alternatively brioche rolls and if you have bread - I've seen individual portions of nutella. Collect disposable cutlery.

Where in the supermarkets are UHT yogurts (I've never bought them in UK -only abroad). Would they be with the long-life milk?

    What an adventure!

I'd get 2 boxes of Belvita, one plain and on nut (I can't choose between them as they are both delish!)
    Easy peel oranges
    kid sized apples
Chopped beetroot in a tub is yummy!
some breadish type thing for stodge - brioche or rolls with butter on

Cook a pack of nice sausages then put then in the fridge so they go really cold then wrap in foil, a good filling little snack, I do this a lot for work (not a whole pack for me in one go :D)

Make a few of litres of hi-juice up and put plenty of bottles of water in too
they can stay in the boot till require they'll keep cold there.

Some wet wipes are essential and a roll of kitchen towel is handy too:)

Flapjacks? Could add dried fruit to them, and they're great for energy! They keep well in a little tub too :)

Thanks. I'm hoping it is. Whilst possibly not a 'once in a lifetime' experience it may be a 'once during their childhood' experience. It's only made possible due to my husband saying he was prepared to take them, without him the other 2 children couldn't go due to work and affordability issues. As it's expensive it is all 3 boys Christmas present from their parents. Wet wipes to put in each bag is a great idea along with kitchen roll in the car.

they're usually either with the long-life milk, or with the pot desserts (jellys, fruit pots, that sort of thing).

A bag of dried apricots (in Poundland at the moment) and if they like maltloaf you can get those ready sliced loaves, or even a pack of 5 individually wrapped little slices, but those are expensive for what you get. My youngest likes them, but I just put a slice into a sandwich bag for him.
