A pack-up breakfast?

They are 12 not 5, a bag of doughnuts would be "fun" for breakfast or some other junk food that they would never usually get, the survival kit and other such extravvagent meals for breakfast (of all things) is laughable.People are suggesting things that they think will be fun. It's a special event for the kids!
!
Do they even usually eat big breakfasts? Could they not manage with a bag of sweets, nuts, crackers and dips or other such snack foods till lunch time?
I can't believe the OP even posted such a thread to be honest.0 -
Mr S drives a lot with his work. His last car went back after 5 years with a bit over 150k on it. Weekly he works 100 miles away from home for 1-2 days. He may need to stop for the loo, but they are driving in a country that doesn't have motorway services like you see in England- or at least I've never seen any in the numerous times we've holidayed there. You are talking a hole in the road.:D I think it's pretty easy to work out which country it is, from the info I've given but I prefer not to say outright for my own privacy. If I was worried about the length of driving Mr S was doing I'd have asked about it not anything else.:p0

For goodness sake!!! I walked round the supermarket uninspired a few times, thinking about when I packed them a breakfast and knew that to fill them on sugary stuff wasn't a good idea, when they'll be 'hyper' enough as it is. I therefore asked for ideas. I don't understand why people who don't answer the question I've asked have such a bee in their bonnet about this thread. Enough people wanted to chat about food to give me some ideas.0

Just need to get a life I guess Spendless (yes I am talking about myself).

I just like getting involved in discussions, and it is in people's nature to ask for further info on the situation before giving their input/ideas etc. hence why things go off on a tangent.0 -
If they can spare 10 minutes before heading out from the hotel you can always freeze a pint of milk and give them some cereal variety packs and some plastic spoons and plastic bowls available from pound shops or the supermarket. Milk will defrost overnight.
I usually try to pack lots of savoury items when we travel. I freeze bottles of water to stick in the cool bag and they are then ready to drink the next day (you will need other drinks for the evening travel)
Most foods will be ok overnight in a cool bag. Sandwiches, cheese snacks, nuts, fruit.
We always tend to take far too much - I over estimate just how much the kids will eat when in reality they are used to going a couple of hours without food!0 -

When my husband and 12 year old went to New York, one morning they got up early to drive for millions of miles (not literally, but I can't remember how far, it was to a thrme park anyhow) and for breakfast they took a box of krispy kreme doughnuts! Nothing else. The people they were staying with did it a lot, but for my son that was the most exciting breakfast ever, and he is still talking about it 4 years later
