:Hi all,
RE: Start and End dates
Thank you for the feedback. We're looking at the development of this at the moment.
Without straying too far from the question in my post, here is the final specification from all the relative comments.
- Optional start date.
- Mandatory End date
-- "Unknown end date" radio button for when the end date is unknown.
- Start & End date to be visible near the thread title.
If you think something else should be in addition to this, please feel free to comment but otherwise we will begin to develop to this spec.
Joe
thanks for taking this project forward Joe :A
Start date - not needed (as often we've missed some period of time anyway) but personally think if we are moving towards a better searchable/sortable field a POSTED DATE (which could be automatically filled) may help (so we can filter and comp by newest posted if we wanted to?)
End date - essential
Unknown end date - perhaps even just a ? after the end date would suffice (which again could be searched within that field and comped so as not to miss)
Just one more thing, could there be a field for D/W/M (daily/weekly/monthly entry), this may even help minimise time for posters and board guides as say if we were doing dailies we could possibly search D within that field and only the dailies come up? and again when we're doing our weeklies we could search W and only get them up? Just thinking out load really about that :rotfl: I think this would only work in a spreadsheet format where the fields were searchable, whereas currently our searches search threads not particular fields :T
I agree it is preferable to show the site name ie Daily Mail/The Sun/The Mirror etc
Thanks #StaySafeWishing you a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year0 -
I agree, the start date isn't very important, but the end date is essential.
Thank you for looking at our concerns, given I started this thread, you'd have thought I'd have seen this earlier!

Could someone take the time to check something for me please?
I sort out comps via end date. At the bottom of the comp/thread there's a button/arrow that says go to next thread. To me, that would mean the next comp that would be on the main page. However, when I press that button, sometimes it goes to a completely different end-date comp.
Am I being stupid?
PS I might be stupid anyway.

Thank you for taking our comments on board regarding the red x button being accessible from the listing page without having to tick into the individual threads.0
