Really? Certainly in an official capacity the deal is over. Have read that some people phoning to ask for this have been told this and refused.

Called Sky on Friday after reading about it on here and job done.

Cheers to those that posted
  • Can someone confirm has anyone managed to cancel both TV and landline and BB due to these prices rises?

    FINALLY! a reply

"We're sad to see you go

We're sorry to hear that you want to cancel your Sky Talk and Sky Broadband, and you don't want to continue with our award-winning service.
Your Sky Talk and Sky Broadband will be cancelled on Monday 26 November 2012.
Please note it can take up to ten working days for the broadband service to be removed from your phone line, after which your new provider will be able to take over your phone line.

    Useful Information

Along with your Sky Broadband Unlimited and Sky Talk Freetime your Sky Talk Line Rental will be cancelled on the above date too.
Calls to Sky Customer Services - calls to our Sky contact centres are inclusive within the calling package for Sky Talk customers. Please note that if you move your telephone service to another provider these calls will now become chargeable.
118SKY - Sky Talk customers automatically receive a 25% discount off Sky's directory enquiry service every time you call 118SKY*.
If you have changed your mind please contact us on 08442 410499 and we'll be happy to help.
Alternatively, it may be that you are in the process of moving home and the services have been requested by the person moving in - if so, please contact us to discuss getting Sky Talk services up and running at your new address.
You'll still be able to access our TV On Demand service with any other broadband provider.
We'd like to thank you for being a Sky customer and hope you change your mind about our services either now or in the future. If you would like more information on the options available to you, please click here.
    Thanks
    The Sky Team
    * Calls to 118 SKY costs 19.2p per minute (plus a 52.7p connection charge) for Sky Talk customers calling from their Sky Talk landline. From BT landlines calls cost 25.5p per minute (plus a 70.30p connection charge). Calls from other providers may vary"

    Fuming here

I've just got this back, jokers where do i stand??

    Dear Mr *****

    Customer Account Number: *****
    Thank you for your email.

I understand that you wish to cancel your Sky services.
Our Broadband and Sky Talk package charges have been frozen for over two years and these charges aren't changing. However, while we frozen those prices we continued to invest heavily in new channels, programmes and technology.
So that we can continue to keep giving our customers value money we're changing the prices of our Line Rental packages for our existing customers. Hence, we are unable to keep your package price as it was earlier.
There will be also be a couple of small changes to call rates. Details of all Sky Talk rates are found at sky.com/callpricing.
We've changes of the prices of our TV from 01-09-2012 and Line Rental package price will change to £14.50 from £12.25 which will take effect from 01-12-2012.
While your price might have stayed same, we've been doing everything we can to make sure your Sky package keeps getting bigger and better.
I do not consider our policy to be unusual in comparison to major services providers. Our aim is not only to provide excellent viewing services to our Customers, but also to ensure that new business continues to be improved.
I understand that you have been a loyal customer with Sky and do realise that the price change would mean a lot to you. However, as Sky believes in improving their services and adding more products this was necessary.
As per the terms and conditions of your contract, you are requested to continue with your Sky service for minimum 12 months. At the end of the period, you can cancel your subscription by providing 31 days notice.
Sky Broadband and Sky Talk will end on the 26-06-2013, which means cancellation cannot processed at this time.
You may contact us on or after 26-05-2013, by giving us the required 31 days notice to cancel.
If you wish you may give notice to cancel Sky Broadband and Sky Talk with early cancellation fees.
You can access your account information online at the following link: https://myaccount.sky.com/portal/myaccount/
You can also view your bill, view historical statements, change your payment due date, and upgrade your package. There’s so much more available to you and it’s so easy to use.

I hope this information has helped with your enquiry. If you require any further assistance, you can respond to my email.

What's going on? i've read you CAN cancel without penalty on various sites, anyone know? I'm only around 2 months into a 12 month contract.
