So i can cancel my SkyTalk with Broadband for no exit fee? why is that not in the letter!
I only signed up about 2 months a go too!
Only your sky talk package can be cancelled if your line rental is being increased to £14.50 monthly.
"Important changes to Sky Line Rental
For existing customers who joined Sky Line Rental before 1 September 2012, the price of your Sky Line Rental will increase to £14.50 a month.
If you are a Sky Talk Line Rental customer affected by the change above, you have the option to cancel your Sky Talk subscription without charge. Further details on how to do this are set out in your Sky Talk terms and conditions "0 -

When I called Sky earlier they said the broadband will be cancelled along with the phoneline as they are interconnected. I wanted to just switch the landline to someone else and keep sky broadband, they said its not possible.
Anyway, he's noted the account to say I've let them know my intentions to leave and he confirmed there won't be any termination charges. Off to Orange phone and broadband now as they're cheaper for the phoneline and cheaper on the broadband plus they're offering £100 cashback via Quidco.0 -
"If you factor in all the charges its cheaper to take the phone ( weekend calls)" all the charges? what charges I gave examples you have not please clarify did you mean the Virgin media M,L or XL phone package?
In the long run voipfone only charge £2.4 a month for there line rental you can upgrade to extra 500 minutes for £5.7 in total.
You don't actually have to buy a VOIP handset you can easily use a softphone saving even more money. Trust me in the future even BT will be using VOIP we all will but I do understand using VOIP is not for everyone particularly the non IT people among us but the technology is there and will get easier to use. In reality your mobile phone could use VOIP to make free phone calls particularly with 4G soon to be rolled out paying a line rental for a copper phone line is not the future0 -
So Sky saw BT's new prices (due January 2013) and decided to lead instead of follow.
Now, with the exception of line rental being 95p/month cheaper, connection charges and per minute charges for non-inclusive calls will cost exactly the same.
Not really. BT own the copper-line network, they set the wholesale prices for other ISPs such as Sky, TalkTalk, Plusnet, etc.
So the fact BT has hiked their rental up, means they have advised all of their resellers that their costs will go up also. Sky will not absorb the increase will they? They are a business.
P.S. I am with Sky also (full TV, Phone & BB) and just as peed off as everyone else..0 -

Just what i was thinking because you cant have Broadband on it's own which is just silly so it looks like i'm good to cancel at no cost.0 -

The way I read it if still under contract:
...the said box, which (according to sky's terms & conditions) "must be connected to a fixed telephone line for 12 months." will no longer meet those conditions & thus the original contract ceases to exist.Fog on The Tyne isn't mine all mine... but if I wanted it, I'd want it with a discount code.0
