Thats how it reads to me and also what has been demonstrated with whats happened recently

I agree that the distribution of codes could have been handled better - I managed to get one, but only after about twenty tries on the Recaptcha (visual and audio - always have problems with both of these) and several instances where the server couldn't deliver the page to my browser.

I can imagine how it would be fairly trivial to get more than one code using different email accounts (and even different IP addresses if that was checked too). I like the idea of restricting such offers to registered members of the site, however I don't see how this would stop someone operating multiple accounts to take advantage of such offers in the future. I also like the idea of a 'lottery', which by far seems the fairest method, but perhaps this would not be permitted legally?

However, while I can appreciate the frustration of long-term members who missed out, I don't think that allowing all users to participate demonstrates that MSE doesn't appreciate loyal members - I think that restricting access to deals would go against the ethos and change the nature of the site.

While I'm on the topic, and I know it doesn't make up for missing a voucher, I'd like to say "thanks" to all those members that do spend a lot of time on the site, helping people out, offering advice and letting everyone else know about money saving deals etc. I've been a member for a while (but don't post a lot), and really appreciate those that spend their free time to help others. :T

By all means show me where a valued member/contributer is shown any more consideration than a lurker/free rider and I shall reconsider

Dan has already admitted that we don't "rank" any higher than anyone else on the net as far as MSE is concerned ...could be worse I suppose it's better than being ranked lower :rotfl:

How do MSE decide who is a valued member/contributer? No of Posts? Length of 'service? Or maybe 'Thanks' ?

Compare our 'stats' and tell me who is the most valued member/contributer and why?

It could start with those that have registered for the email

It would be quite easy to have included a link in the email that went live after a certain time/date etc etc

7 million have registered for the email. Tell me how you decide the 30,000 valued members/contributers amongst them?

The mail goes out to 7 million...again who amongst them are valued members/contributers?

How does MSE decide?

The link was posted on a public site where anyone can follow the link not just the registered users ...hence no cosideration is show for those registered.
It would also mean one code per registered user ...as in the case of those who got 8/9 codes using various email addy's
I personaly know someone not a member who got 3 using those tactics ...not exactly fair is it ?

We are both the same ...we are both members and contributers there is no difference other than I've been here longer and more post's...but that doesn't mean I deserve anything more than you so please don't try to use that tac.
