Railway codes: not happy

Thanks Dan.
A couple of suggestions for future reference:
1. Make people claim the code using their MSE "handle" rather than an email address (or restrict applications to emails that correspond to an MSE handle). Perhaps only accept MSE handles that had been registered a week or more before the offer was announced; or even restrict the best offers to people who have been thanked a certain number of times;
2. Please don't use Google "captchas" which I for one find almost impossible. Think carefully about what the technology is supposed to achieve, and find an appropriate solution. There are plenty of alternatives (While I own shares in Google, I think their "captcha" is a disaster and the sooner major sites stop using it, the better.)0 -
Couldn't agree more about captcha Voyager2002. It's an absolute pain in the backside trying to figure out the words you are given!!0

I wouldn't worry about not getting a code. My daughter got one and can't use it because of a fatal application error. I guess there's no such thing as a free lunch.0

The codes don't seem to work anyway when you try to book a ticket. You just get a fatal application error message and no £10 off!0

Got a code this morning and have 'banked it' on red spotted hanky without any problems. Will use £10 later in year.0

Well done to those people who managed to get a code but sadly it had all finished by the time that I had finished work0

Hi there,
As some other posters have said, RSH was struggling too - try again over the weekend and if it doesn't work then send me a PM

Thanks for the feedback Voyager.
However, ensuring offers are open to all is a crucial part of what we do, and always will be. The forum is a vital part of the website, and invaluable to us. But the site has 10 million monthly users, of which only a small proportion of them use the forum. Therefore the huge majority of people who get the weekly email don't have an MSE handle.
We don't rank our users in their importance to us - we do our best to help everyone save in one way or another
