^ Ocado have given me another 3 months free smart pass - so I will make use of that!

I've been shopping in store more lately, WF especially and some larger branch Waitrose.

Bought the Waitrose org pittas, much better than A&C. Though I have to go in a large branch to get them or via Ocado.

Made houmous last weekend - using Crazy Jack chickpeas from Ocado - very nice dried chickpeas (didn't get all the skins either?). Also bought more of the A&C houmous.

Florentin falafels from Waitrose (think I saw these in WF too) are really nice - organic and vegan but they were in a weird place so hadn't noticed them before ie they weren't with the other veggie snack stuff like Waitrose own brand falafels (non org and contain milk for some bizarre reason) or even the lunch snack stuff where the sarnies/houmous are - they had an isolated end of I think the fish aisle, I only saw them as I doubled back to look at something else. 3 varieties in Waitrose, I tried basil and date variety. Will buy more.

Didn't like the Godo coffee variety, was far too intense for me. I wasn't overkeen on the almond either - will stick to the milk choc varieities..

I've not seen the Selfridges beauty box. I saw M&S were stocking Ren which I think is org or at least natural but not sure how much. I like the souk souk boxes (online) but I daren't fill up the bathroom..

My local Lidl stocks organic milk, eggs, carrots, onions, pasta - sometimes cheese too. Latest offering was organic vine tomatoes 500g for 1.99. Picked up some Rachel's organic yogurt on offer for OH, 99p. The chilled New Zealand lamb steaks are back yay 3.19 as well and the lamb loin chops were 3.99 - grass-pastured GM free and tasty (sorry Kirri). Bought a couple of mens cotton tshirts for the garden - 2,99 each.

Sainsbury's where I scored yellow stickered organic strawberries reduced from 2.50 to 1.69. Totally gorgeous. Had to buy organic cream 1.20 ! Got quite a lot of veg plus a jacket and two CDs.

If I buy a veg box (only 2 of us) I get small from Ocado but I order veg as I want from Abel & Cole or Riverford and buy veg from Ocado, Sainsbury's and Lidl.

What is the advantages or differences with going into sainsburys and buying them to ordering a veg box?

Buying organic veg from supermarkets can be cheaper, but not always. There's less of a range in supermarkets, you won't get unusual veg. Supermarkets don't give freebies or recipes.

Ocado veg boxes are delivered with rest of your order in one hour slot. Abel & Cole and Riverford will deliver if you are in catchment area once a week, no slot, just when they turn up.

Sainsbury's has biggest organic range. Waitrose and Ocado really high quality. ASDA organic veg really good but I haven't found much.

Lot less packaging, much better/wider variety (Riverford had padron peppers, tomatillos etc which I don't see in supermarkets), make you eat a wider selection of veg, gets delivered to your doorstep for free (Riverford) or 99p (A&C). I wouldn't go back to buying veg in store.

I prefer Riverford's ethics, ie veg is from their farms mostly, the box selections seem better and they are cheaper but A&C have more flexibility with 'dislike' options and they have a wider range of additional goods and they provide chilled packaging for fridge goods. Farmaround were good value, very ethical but had bad customer service. Smaller more local box schemes are better value than the big players.. Some box schemes don't import at all ie for things that don't grow in the UK. Ocado do org and non org boxes and obviously can be delivered on an hour slot so may suit more than someone who is out all day. So there are schemes for all requirements depending what you want..

There are a lot of reviews and some pics of various boxes if you are bored enough to read the whole thread!

Came on to say Biona organic falafels from Ocado are nice.
I didn't like the Florentin yam falafels - but the date and basil ones were nice.

Anyone got any org salad dressing recommendations? Seem to be a lack of options to buy it at all.. Am also looking for something a bit more exciting than a standard vinaigrette..
