I'm still here and still buying, wondered where you were!
I've not been to WF Fulham yet but will do, been visiting my usual store though!0 -
I am still here but haven't had anything productive to add to the thread. Things seem pretty quiet at the moment. Hope everyone is ok.'Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves'0

I'm still about too:hello:
Not much to report from me either. We've been enjoying strawberries and Montezuma chocolate over the weekend. Both of which are on offer till 29th Apr with Ocado.
Looking forward to getting up later and bringing in the A & C delivery. I added a few extras this week including cinnamon and raisin Danish, a sausage roll and cocoa loco nutty flapjack bites, some pizza bases and some houmous.
As much as I love all the winter veggies I'm looking forward to more salads and especially fresh fruit salads, added nectarines to this weeks order too.
Certainly have to shop around though, I'm sure prices with A & C have jumped up again.
Cucumber,
A & C £2.50:eek::eek::eek: Ocado £1.75, Sainsbobs £1.25 and Riverford £1.75
Spring onions,
A & C £2.30:eek::eek::eek:Sainbobs 85p, Riverford £1.55
Whilst A & C aren't always the most expensive I was shocked at some of the prices last week. Thank goodness we have a good Sainsbobs close by.0 -
^ am also shocked at some of A&C's prices this year for individual produce, I accept paying more for organic but they are way above comparable items and consistently way above Riverford's prices all year. I've had to cut back on the amount I eat/purchase when adding in single items. Hopefully ordering from Riverford this week though plus I think the mix in Riverford boxes is usually better.
Am also fed up with heavy winter veg, the last few weeks I've just ordered salad boxes and added the odd 1 veg item on.
Also been buying the organic bagged salad from either M&S or Waitrose and getting bits from Wholefoods.0 -
Does anyone have any experiance with ordering meat from the likes of A&C or Riverford? Or any of the other organic meat suppliers online? Field and flower looks interesting.0

We only eat organic meat and I generally only buy it when on a good offer. I have bought various cuts of meat from Ocado and have rarely been disappointed. Ocado lamb leg steaks were recently on offer and I stocked up in the freezer. They have been good in casseroles, grilled and used for curries. Laverstoke loin steaks are a favourite and I only stock up when they are at least 40% off as a flash sale item. Voted the nicest pork steaks by both us and our friends who've come to dinner.
Chicken, We prefer whole chickens from Abel and Cole, definitely the cleanest and best flavour. I've also bought whole chickens from Sainsbobs, W'rose and Ocado. Second favourite is Black farmer chickens from Ocado. The nicest chicken thighs were from Daylesford direct. Both the best on price and flavour, I bought 3kgs and delivery was prompt.
A & C are great if you just want the odd meat item, but Riverford have a minimum £25 meat order. We used to buy their bacon, but we've recently swapped to A & C. Riverford sausages are a bit better than A & C, but we've yet to find a good sausage as we are to find a decent burger with taste. Going to have to start making our own.
Have had various joints of meat from both Laverstoke and all have been good. The stuffed pork joint from Riverford is really good. I've got their beef brisket several times and cooked it in the slow cooker, but also cubed it for use in casseroles.
Sainsbobs organic beef mince isn't bad at 3 packs for a tenner.
Laverstoke sirloin steak was recently on half price and I combined the offer with the £25 free meat offer so it was free and we got double iykwim. Probably the nicest steak, but it's not like we have it very often. We also like their gammon steaks, but definitely not their sausages or burgers.
Hope this helps:)0 -
I am still shopping at A and C and love the freshness plus the only 99p delivery charge. I am not buying a set box though as we still have home grown veg in the freezer and my salad stuff is almost ready to eat and I often don`t want several of the set items, subs are too unknown for me. We love the milk and the special (expensive) butter. I am spending on average around £40 a week although sometimes £20 +. Their chicken is lovely and so are their meats but we don`t eat a lot of meat so can easily justify the cost
We are 12 miles round trip from sainsburys and it is not a huge one so very limited in organic. Waitrose is 30 mile round trip so A and C does us very nicely together with my home grown stuff including sprouted seeds0 -
Really disappointed with Riverford customer service this week... 1 bad attitude makes quite a difference. Shame as the box was good. Back to ordering from A&C next week. Am sticking to boxes now to save money though..
Has anyone found organic orzo anywhere? I fancy trying it after seeing a recipe in the Waitrose booklet.0
