Another yay for organic food.. hospital check up today and the retinopathy I've had for years has almost healed up now :)

Am verry verry chuffed. If I had any would be opening champagne !

Interesting you should post this, as I went to opticians recently and my astigmatism has gone. The optician said it was very unusual. I never related it to my diet but maybe it is.

    Excellent news for you!

When people write that a carrot is a carrot, that's true. But when you eat organic food, you're not eating the pesticides, the chemical fertilisers, the GM ingredients, the preservatives.

So maybe what we aren't eating is as important as what we do eat. That if we eat food which is closer to that which we would have eaten way back when, our body functions better.

My liver enzymes were out of whack. I began eating organic in between tests and I thin I'd be eating organic for a fortnight, three weeks tops and they didn't just normalise for the next test, they were great.

Sometimes economics get in the way and we can't choose the things we want. But one thing that anyone can do, is cut down on all the rubbish in their food by looking for things without artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives and dubious sounding chemicals. In many cases it IS possible to buy food without them.
    It just means reading labels.

My eyes are still the same despite 10years+ of mostly organic.. pah.

I missed the doc on sugar/fat, will try and watch on catch up.

Alfsmum, really want more Ombars now, didn't realise vegan choc could ever taste like that. Never tried any other raw choc to compare but I will def buy it again when I have chance.

Btw, the A&C returnee offer is well worth it, they seem to be giving a couple of freebies with it too.

Wholefoods do halves of veg ie savoy, squash, cauli etc - all sold cut in half - great for households who don't want too much at once. (not all veg in there is org however).

G&B mini choc bars pack reduced to £3 in Waitrose :o
Kallo org choc rice cakes still 10% off with MyWaitrose card.

Had A&C veg delivery, all really good.

Was in a cafe earlier and they had GF organic biscuits on the counter, quite surprising to see. I've promptly forgotten what brand it was though.

Was in Holland & Barrett yesterday, they're doing double Reward card points at the moment.

The products making the most impact on me personally are made with organic konjac - high fibre low carb gluten free 'rice' and 'pasta'. For someone who hadn't eaten pasta since 2007, suddenly having fettucine, penne, spaghetti, rice and noodles is like WOW.

Gathered up quite a few organic veggies in Sainsbury's yesterday (Sussex awash with water tho) and Ocado this morning = bell peppers, romano peppers, onions, red onions, spring onions, shallots, leeks, mushrooms, carrots, cherry tomatoes, celery, cucumber, fennel, Savoy cabbage, cauliflower and runner beans !
  • Good news for everyone who is sick of hearing me talking about my unemployment. The first company who said I had passed the interview (the one I mentioned on a previous post) couldn't give me a shift to suit my availability which left me pretty disheartened but I had an interview yesterday with a different company and have just had the phone call to say I have the position and I know that I can do all the hours they require so I am now employed :):):):):).
