Thread in Discussion Time on organic food

I've already posted there. It's sad that so many people in that thread take such a short term view of the impact of intensive farming or just don't care altogether.

There's a lot of total ignorance in that thread, though maybe that is the norm for DT..

On the organic side, I wasn't keen on the A&C bananas last week, they went from green to sort of semi brown without going yellow, read somewhere that might be due to being too cold?

Just trying to put my veg order together now but can't decide what to get.

    *Sigh* GM trial requested..

Great News :). I have been for two interviews (first stage & second stage) and have been told I have passed both so they will be in touch about a start date. However they have told me the original job I applied for is no longer available so they are offering me another but do not know the shifts for this new position so I have told them the hours I am available so I am hoping the shifts they have in mind fits in and I still have a job!

Thanks. I do have other interviews this week (today I had a work trial, I have an interview tomorrow and one on Friday) but ideally want this position as I perfer the work (broadband technical support) and there is a good chance for progression. Hopefully they will be able to give me a shift to suit my availability, I put down 12 hours within a day so I have my fingers crossed.

I haven't seen many organic offers recently but did manage to get a few bags of organic carrots down from £1 to 20p in the reductions at Sainsburys.

Keeping fingers crossed for you metaphorically.

Tried Riverford harira soup - bit hot (spicy) but really yummy.

Holland & Barrett penny sale ends very soon !

Ombar raw organic vegan chocolate - OMG gorgeous! (and expensive..).

No idea where else sells this, I got it from Wholefoods.

Kirri the Ombar choc is great isn't it? Also buy mine from WF but have seen it in independent health and nutrition shops too.

Congrats bornintoit and Edwardia, good news for you both.

Was going to order a veg box from Ocado but their own boxes have a fair few items we don't like at the moment, and the Wholegood boxes they sell have got really mixed reviews. The most recent ones are dire so maybe it's the season as reviews last year were glowing. Don't know what to do now! Just had a 'come back to us' leaflet in the post from A&C as I haven't had a box from them since about November, the usual 4th box free offer. Think I'll have a look at their contents for Friday......
