    Never heard of rapadura sugar?

    What is Rapadura?

Rapadura is the pure juice extracted from the sugar cane (using a press), which is then evaporated over low heats, whilst being stirred with paddles, then ground to produce a grainy sugar. It has not been cooked at high heats nor spun to change it into crystals and the molasses has not been separated from the sugar. It is produced organically, and does not contain chemicals or anti-caking agents.

'Rapadura' – can also be called Panela

Rapadura is a whole food product which can vary according to sugar cane variety, soil type and weather. This is why one batch of Rapadura may be lighter or darker than the last batch.

Because Rapadura is not separated from the molasses and is not subject to being heated at high temperatures, (it is dehydrated at a low heat), the vitamins and minerals have been retained.

Can't believe sugar could be so good for you! :D

Abel & Cole 2 litres milk going up next week from 1.92 to 1.99. I can't really complain tho as Moo organic UHT is £1 per litre everywhere and Riverford milk is £1.04 per litre.

Anyone had the mushroom and bean burgers from Riverford ?

^ I've only had the Mexican variety but I really like them, have repeat ordered those ones and never tried the others..

Was looking for organic peel over the weekend, Crazy Jack seem to have stopped the one I used to buy as is out of stock everywhere and has been for ages. I see Suma do an organic one but with glucose fructose syrup - Edwardia, did you mention something about that syrup before?? I think I'll have to get this one as doesn't seem any alternatives.

Glucose is natural, every cell can use it for energy. In nature, fructose is found in fruit with fibre and natural.

HFCS and variants such as glucose fructose syrup are man-made and many hundreds of times sweeter than sugar. It's used in place of sugar because it's so cheap as made from subsidised American corn. Your brain can react to glucose and release insulin to push it into your cells. Your brain doesn't release insulin in response to fructose and only the liver can deal with it. Like trans fats, HFCS is something your body was never designed to cope with.

It's Organic September once again so please look out for offers.

Ocado just emailed me and is offering 20% or more off selected organic products.

Last year Sainsbury's had offers on organic food and Tesco was offering extra Clubcard points on some organic food.

However, it often disappears again in October so if you can afford to, snap up stuff for the freezer and cupboards and make jam/chutney ;)

Just realised that this is the thread's 100th page so well done us :)
