Does anyone know where you can get organic Sugarpaste, flower paste, food gums, baking natural flavours and colourings? I can't locate any in supermarkets.

I don't think I've ever seen organic versions of things like sugarpaste, food gums, and flower paste - thinking back to my bakery days I don't think I've ever even seen organic trade versions of any of these products. They do tend to have a lot of additives so I think it'd be quite hard to get an organic version.

You can get natural colourings and flavourings but they are very expensive - I've never tried this company but you can get them here.

Allo everyone !! Got deliveries coming for new bathroom and having fun choosing stuff :)

    rufy I lurve A&C coleslaw too !
Kirri chuckling at you munching guest's food.. my grandmother would bake cakes " in case anyone came" then when we asked where are they she would look sheepish and say she ate them :D

Anyone been near a Morrisons lately as I'm getting low on that 50% off organic EV olive oil offer I bought loads of..

Munched some of OH's Tideford organic rice pudding in pots from Ocado and mmm not bad although have to say I think the Ambrosia organic is better :o (ASDA stocks it )

ASDA non offer price for 24 organic Weetabix 2.68.. Waitrose 3.09

I was in Sainsbury's Wednesday with Maman and bought 2 wild lemon sole for 4.59 and local asparagus in ASDA £1 a bunch.

Must say I rarely go in supermarket these days but I did get expanding bath rack for £10 in Sainsbury's, cotton face cloths 2 for £1 ASDA and 15 yellow cotton dusters £1 ASDA. :)

Just a quick thumbs up for Sainsbury's organic Highland shortbread. Not something you should be eating every day, but really gorgeous for a treat. It's not a bad price either, I think it was 80p for a box.

I'll second that, have to hide them from my oh or they seem to disappear very quickly once opened.

Riverford order arrived today complete with chocolate brownies :D
This week we tried the Luscomb ginger beer, so nice I wish it was a bigger bottle oh can't have alcohol so it was for him. I've been trying a different bottle of cider each week and so far the one from ocado is the best but all have been nice :D 1 500ml bottle is enough to last me 3 glasses over 3 days over a weekend and another of my little treats. How I like treats, off to do my Abel And Cole order for Tuesday.
I'm going to blame you Kirri if a packet of those cookies should find their way into the box.

    Hi
Just updating my orders for Abel and Cole and Riverford this week. Having shared with you all how yummy the chocolate brownies are from Riverford I am shocked to see and report that they have increased the price from £1.30 to £1.65 for a 110g brownie  They are no longer an option at that price. It's quite a price jump and I wonder how many people will stop buying them now. If I bake my own then we consume more, but maybe I'll have to exercise more self control and ration them for my OH too.

^ Hmm that seems quite a bit now for 1 slice, might have been tempted to add a couple on at the old price.

Edwardia - I made cakes too, like your gran, I always do :D though at least I hadn't eaten all them too!
New bathroom? I thought you were moving?

Got to put my orders in - overspent a bit the last two weeks so cheap order this week, mainly just a few bits of veg and some biscuits of course ;)

Wilkos still have the Ecover on offer though most has sold out and hadn't been restocked  In addition to the ones I posted, they also have the concentrated clothes washing liquid for £4.

Interesting email from the Soil Association today, not that I would buy these brands but very misleading marketing from some non org companies:

    https://www.soilassociation.org/blogs/latestblog/article/752/what-it-says-on-the-tin-or-pot

Boots facial oil says it is 100% organic on the box but it actually contains at least four non-organic ingredients
Nivea ‘Pure and Natural’ handcream carries an unofficial leaf stamp and claims the product is 95% natural. However the product contains a preservative which some claim could be carcinogenic and is suspected of causing nerve damage
Coconut shampoo, from US cosmetics company Organix, contains no organic ingredients, is not certified and contains potential carcinogens.

Having used Riverford and Abel & Cole most of this year I find them overall much the same in value/quantity though A&C has an option to skip items. - I order from both and choose the box mostly based on the contents each week
Got our first Abel and Cole delivery today. We decided on the large fruit and veg and added a few extras as well. Very happy we did the order as had been thinking about doing this for 2 years. Can see this helping the budget as having to plan!
    2 adults groceries: June £35.79/£200
    # 3 - Saving for Xmas 2015 £1 a day. £122/£365
    TTC #1 since 06/08/12

Kirri we are putting in new bathroom this week, want to max the price so will get new kitchen too tho that's big job. Plus think it could be worth paying for outline planning permission for loft conversion and off road parking.

OH thirds the shortbread btw. Just been in Sainsbos buying organic lamb chops and teabags as opposite DIY stores. Will be having fun with tester pots :)

I have to say A & C, Ocado and Riverford combo works for me, really cuts down supermarket trudgery :D

Yes I really do have to plan my week ahead now so I don't waste it but am so glad I made the change. Plus not going shopping is a huge bonus!

Abel and Cole arrived today and I had ordered the usual milk and eggs along with Marriages flour which is currently on a better offer than Ocado. I had also ordered 2 chocolate muffins and 2 bran and raison muffins but the got squashed. I do hate the way things get pushed under the string that goes around the boxes. I also had a couple of broken eggs too. Well after a quick call they have added free muffins to my order for next week :D

Well I can now report that although squashed they tasted so good that they will be our treat from now on every few weeks. Nicest muffin his tasted says the oh, 2 for £2.99 but worth it for a real treat.
