I will visit As Nature Intended sometime in the next few weeks.
Hope you can find the kale somewhere (online?)
Checked Ocado price and it is £8.49 for Biona 1 litre so slightly more expensive per litre but I may take the option of having it delivered. Organic carrots 1.2kg 1.38 at Ocado at the moment as on offer, usually 1.85 so I may the carrots too as carrots last in the fridge.
As you can see I have an obsession with online shopping.
I don't shop online as I never know when I may be called out for work and therefore not in to take delivery, and anyway I don't like using online payment. Besides, living alone I don't need to get large shopping at any one time and a carrier bagful a couple of times a week takes care of all my needs - especially as I'm always passing by a health food shop or another, and supermarkets do carry basic organic stuff anyway.Be careful who you open up to. Well I did go into As Nature Intended in Ealing today, after a visit to the dentist (two dental implants, sore mouth and bank balance, but that's another story)
They had 1kg packs of organic carrots, 2 for £3, which is quite good. Bought two.
I also bought a 750ml bottle of Biona Italian extra virgin olive oil, £5.90 (sophlowe take note). I saw also the excellent La Terra E Il Cielo (Earth and Sky) Italian extra virgin olive oil at £15.90 for 750ml. Very steep indeed.
Still can't find my beloved organic kale anywhere. Meh.
If you have any space for a pot you can grow kale quite easily, if that's an option for you.0 -
OH had day off cos my birthday today and we were going to trek over to Canterbury and do some shopping - Fenwick, Debenhams, Green Pea Wholefoods, Whittards, b&m, English Heritage, Crabtree & Evelyn, Oxfam bookshop, National Trust, Wilkinson..

Sorry to hear Edwardia. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

50,000 tonnes from two Dutch processors sent to over 500 European companies between Jan 2011 and Feb 2013. Dutch investigators have recalled it because they can't trace it and therefore the beef isn't fit for human consumption.0

Happy Birthday Edwardia, I hope you feel better tomorrow and can replan your visit to Canterbury. It rained a lot today, so perhaps when you go to Canterbury next it will be a wam sunny day.
I got organic broccoli in Tesco today, I must say it is expensive eating at friends places and shopping at Tesco, my share of the food for lunch with my friend was £4, organic broccoli being £1 (special offer), one normal pepper at 80p, a pack of stir fry for £1 (which did not look like good quality pieces of veg in the slightest to me) and an avocado for £1! And she got the stuff I insisted was way overpriced. She insists she does not spend a lot of money on food, I completely disagree as she buys little packets of everything and £1.50 for a small pack of baby corn she got for us to have! Plus I was still starving afterwards. Organic is far cheaper for me than to have her (and her flatmates method of shopping). Then again, they skip meals and don't get enough calories so maybe their spend on food is cheaper overall, I doubt it though. Its like they want to get through the day with eating as little food as possible and they want to encourage other people to do the same0 -
Ohhhh Edwardia I did miss the birthday bit. Sooo sorry!!
I hope you had a reasonable day, all told. Belated Best Wishes :bdaycake:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
