Morning everyone
Its great to read about everyones Easter with all those fab traditions. Pink your giant egg made me smile you should post a piccy:D
My 11 year old neighbour really enjoyed her easter egg hunt especially as the fence between our two gardens is still down so there was double the hiding space! She started off happy with chaz (my cannine visitor) helping out but soon changed her mind when she realised he could smell them well before she sussed the clue:rotfl:
Sorry you have to work on a bank holiday Snowy but a least on your day off the shops should have returned to some kind of normality - personally I wouldnt go near a super market today - far too stressful and I find amazingly that I can manage a whole day of them closing without needing to stock up for 3 weeks (why do people do that)
Anyway had a stupendous lunch with my folks yesterday (rib beef, yorkies, roasties and about 5 veg:D then sticky toffee pudding and a cheese plate:o )
We did balance a couple of the calories out with an hour and half walk up the canal at the side of their house which is a great walk as its uphill and there are 20 odd locks in a space of a couple of miles. Amazing to think the technology involved in moving boats uphill:eek:
So today I really need to do some house stuff - have neglected it all this week - so I will be hoovering and chaz will have a duster attached to his tail and I will chase him around the lounge till its clean:rotfl:
Hope you all enjoy your easter monday and hugs to all

Hi guys
Can I ask you all a favour? - I am looking for a good inexpensive hotel to stay at in the Kent/E Sussex area. I know it is a large area but not fixed to any place - would prefer to be in the country but somewhere picturesque and QUIET!!:)
We will be shattered after a long drive and want one night.
I posted in the travel section and it's rather dead in there.
They are not picturesque but usually fairly quiet, try the travel lodges, we use them a lot and you can book rooms for as little as £15 depending on when you want to go. We went to Scotland for 3 nights @£26 a night.....
Morning all..........nice bright morning, slight breeze....had my washer in the paper Saturday night but no phone calls, so am going to put another laod of washing in and try and get it dry today.......the linen basket is at the apartment so our dirty washing is in a bucket in the bathroom at the house. The washer will go in my friends garage on Wednesday and I will have another go at selling it, maybe try ebay, if that doesn't work then its the sally army.........I have put a lot of stuff through free cycle but the last two lots people have said they wanted them and then not contacted me to arrange delivery, so no more stuff going through them.
The joint of beef I cooked yesterday has sliced into sufficient to do us 3 more dinners, so one lot for tonight and the other 2 in the freezer for later.
It is just a week since we got the keys for the apartment......and 2 days till we finally move in....the cupboards back at the house are looking quite empty, but we need shelves putting up so some stuff will have to stay in boxes. I have to come over early tomorrow to let the carpet fitter in to do the hall carpet.......also need to phone the removers and see when the chaps are coming to do the packing...........
Right thats it for this morning, may be back later, I did manage to tune in the TV at the house last night, depending whats on whether we come over here later.........................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hi everybody :hello:
Am lounging on the sofa in my jimjams and I've been watching telly and phoning my mumwith plenty of sun and fresh air coming in from the wide open windows
And I had a very decadent breakfast of apple crumble with creme fraiche (on the grounds that both needed using up - well that's my excuse anyway
)
To those of you who are off on picnics today - have a lovely time! It certainly seems like the weather for it!
Supper tonight will be roast lamb - I've had a half-leg in the freezer for ages, and was going to defrost it for yesterday but couldn't be bothered what with 2 church services to sing... then after Evensong yesterday I got given a small bunch of rosemary as the church had bought too much for the Holy Saturday mass... so will be having lamb with rosemary this evening
Ought to do some tidying round the flat today as well. But am not going to do too much as this is the first day in ages when I have had absolutely NOTHING planned - not working, not grocery shopping, NOTHING
So I think I'm going to put some clothes on and go out for some lovely fresh air - pick up the newspaper, go for a walk, and then this evening, watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on Channel 4 as it is one of the best films I've ever seen.
Have a lovely day everybody
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Hi all
WM has done 3 loads & it's all drying on the line, still got the floors to sweep but that will be all today. We had DGS for the day on Saturday as DD & DSIL had to work, she normally works nights & her hubby works days so they can share child care, but we don't mind, he's not quite 3 & very chatty & very easy to look after as we have a garden with a few of his toys in. we took him to the local garden centre as I wanted a honeysuckle to plant, he helped hubby to water the garden & then we took him for a walk & bought him an ice cream.
Yesterday we spent most of the day vegging out, recovering from DGS visit & today we are having roast lamd & all the trimmings & we're going out later for a drink at a local pub.
Hugs to all
Hester

Hi everyone:j
The roast chicken is in the oven and a separate meal from DS gf who is vegetarian and on WW so I`ve done roasted veg for her and goats cheese. Used my oil mister for the veg so she stays within targets. She`s done very well and lost nearly 2 stone so that`s fab!
DS16 texted home from Barratts to say he needed his antihistamines so DS21 kindly delivered those. We`re hoping that by the end of the week he will have had his second interview at Waitrose ( which is at the end of our road) and can leave Messrs. Barratts. Apparently the staff have to buy a pair of Barratts shoes which I think qualifies as bullying on their meagre wages!
DS16 is the one who has an audition at X factor- intends to sing `Last Request` but it all hinges on whether he gets the hours at Waitrose otherwise he cant go which is sad! I quite fancied being a groupie Mum and wearing a T shirt to prove it!
Love to all - enjoy the weather - tomorrow we`re all back at the grindstone!

Just got back from a car boot sale we visited and managed to get a carrier bag of tupperware for £1 :j very happy with this as it included 1 fridge door jug and lid, 1 mug, 2 large round containers (already have one for our coffee so these will be perfect for tea bags and sugar) and 1 small round container. I also picked up 2 stainless steel cone colanders, 1 med and 1 small size for 10p each. On the way out bought 5 potted herbs for £3 so trip was worth while.
The bruising is now coming out so I am being very careful about what i eat (hopefully weigh in night tomorrow will reflect this!;) ) Family are doing a barbecue but I will be having (or sucking) pasta salad! followed by barbecued bananas and ice cream.
(((Hugs)))

Afternoon all
Had a complete waste of a morning - went to the police station as requested to properly report nasty exh's reappearance only to be told that no crime had been commited so not a lot they can do - well I could have told them that. Dropped dgs off at his mum's this morning and she confessed that she had in fact contacted her dad a couple of days ago and spoke to him last night which negates the already flimsy non-contact order that I had - I can't even speak to her at the moment but do understand that she is curious. While in town thugh I did pick up a nice charity shop dress and blouse, four novels and a veggie cookbook so I suppose it's not a complete waste
The nice exh has gone to w**k which is a relieif as he has been pottering around my garden all weekend planting lots of expensive high maintenance things in inappropirate places and leaving lots of debris around the house and garden. I shall spend the rest of the day catching up with housework, clearing the garden (although youngest dd is being paid 50p to do the worst of it) and listening to the footie. little dd, who is a maths brainiac, worked out that if Brentford lose today we will be relegated and even if we draw some other team has to win or lose or something - She lost me a bit with her calculations.
lunch was egg and chips in a caff and dinner will be bbq debris
Have a good dayI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080
