  • Morning Everyone :hello:

I'm as stiff as a board this morning!!! I did the gardens yesterday, mowed the lawn, done the pots and hanging basket, lots of weeding (the weeds alone filled half me bin - good job they collected today!!)
I've done the front and that looks sooo much better. I have done half of the back garden in terms of the one border is done at the side, but the other border will have to be done next month when I can buy some more plants :rotfl: .

In the meantime though, the plan today is to nip to Wilko's and get some grass seed and sow that to try and revive some of the patches and to paint the shed - thats the one thing I'm not looking forward to.

Anyway, have have lovely day to those that are celebrating and hugs to those that want/need them.

    Hi

Had a really lazy day yesterday, the first Sunday in weeks.

Today we have a final viewing and our son is visiting us later, so should be fun:)

Having Chinese bought rom M&S with the vouchers we had. The Simnel cake I made is good, plus I have some wicked American cheesecake from Sainsbury which was reduced. I have a couple of eggs to give him as well.

If the weather stays nice we will take him for a spin in the new car:)

Hi to all and Happy Easter Monday (((hugs)))

Glad - hope they manage to sort out your reflux problem - must be horrible especially when it keeps you awake.
CCStar - make sure you get SOME sleep!
Pink-winged - loved you giant Easter egg idea - will pinch that for next year. Sounds great!
Amie - hope FIL is feeling better. Our neighbours' barbecue was great and very boozy! Got quite cold from early evening but they lit their chiminea for the first time and it was brilliant - down to just the four of us by then and we sat round the fire eating choc and telling scary stories! Like being on school camp! Lovely day and I slept quite well which is unusual for me.
Snowy - don't work too hard. I don't shop on bank holidays and I always feel sorry for the people who have to work and for children who get dragged round the shops when they should be having fun on days like these.
Crazychik - hope your back gets better - take it easy!
Mrs mix - wish my house was clean and tidy - visitors staying until tomorrow and I can't get on with anything properly! It's starting to wind me up now because I know I'll spend the rest of the week playing catch-up especially with the ironing. It's just piling up and I usually try and do it every other day. I'm trying hard to be smiley but it is getting a bit difficult now because I keep having to clear up after everybody else. Why do visitors clutter up all your work surfaces so you have to have a big clear up before you start cooking THEIR dinner? Grrrrr!
Queenie - enjoy your rhubarb. I once had a recipe for rhubarb cordial which was delicious - if I find it I'll post it.
Lillibet - Lavender is lovely - I mix it with other herbs and put it in little muslin bags - lovely in the airing cupboard and also hanging on the tap so the water runs through it when you run the bath- mmm!
Twink - hope the weather improves where you are - it's a lovely day here again - we've been so lucky!
Smokey and Lynzpower - some great pics again, Smokey and good luck with coping with your visitors - see my words to Mrs mix - I can't wait to get the house all to myself again! I also feel as though I should be sociable all the time when it does me much more good being on here and reading everyone's posts!

Anyway, have a lovely, lovely day, everybody and will drop in again later. Visitors have just announced that they are going to Portsmouth for the day to see HMS Victory - so OH and I WILL get some peace after all!!:grouphug: :coffee:  :hello: :j

    Morning all

Another lovely morning on the coast here. Had a lovely few days away in Wiltshire, nice to be home though. We spent yesterday in the garden, dismantled the climbing frame which is too small for DD's now and chopping down brambles and stingers....half the grass got cut too (it's a big garden so takes a while to cut) Got the climbing frame listed on ebay and someones coming to look at it today - fingers crossed they take it home with them!

I must pop to the supermarket later - although I normally avoid the shops on a bank holiday, being away last week has thrown me right out and as I don't drive I have to make the most of DH whilst he's home :D

Had a lovely bbq last night after all our gardening efforts - the charcol was free via freecycle a few months ago and we made our own burgers and kebabs from bits and bobs in the freezer - very tasty it was too. Tonight will be chilli and a glass of wine.

Hope you all have a lovely day in the sunshine (if you've got any) and don't forget the sunscreen (which I did yesterday and now look rather pink!)

queenie the rhubarb must be early down your way mine is just popping through now...
Is it? Oh wow, you must be a lot further North from me then :D

Bread machine is now doing it's thing, as is the washing machine so now I can have a guilt free sit down and a cuppa

I'm back over at my friends tomorrow to do some painting and the boys are being given control of the incinerator (what is it with males and fire? )
Need to do some research today on Lymphodema (sp?) poor J's leg has swollen like a balloon!!

Catz - how did you get on with your extraction? Hope it isn't too painful now. I did think of you, especially yesterday when one of the visitors arrived with melted eggs from the heat build up in their car. They were apologetic and I was thinking "Ooh, Catz would be able to enjoy those just as they are, all gooey and melted" :o

MimiF - your lentil and bacon soup sounds scrummy! And it's just the inspiration I needed today. Stealing your idea for my household

    Morning all

((hugs)) to al lin need and hope everyone has had a good easter.

So much for my lie in - the bin men still came this morning - but as most people have obviously forgotten to put their bins out, they were earlt. So I was doing the "dressing gown" dash at 8 am :rotfl: And my next door neighbours are having their house re-roofed so I have had the gentle sound of hammering pounding around my ears since 8.30 :(

Had a nice day yesterday. Took a picnic, and me and boys and DS2's little friend from across the road went to Blackpool Model Village. Found all the easter bunnies so we all got a creme egg :j The we went for a play on the beach at Fleetwood (wasn't going to brave the front at Blackpool!!) They had loads of kites so boys thought it was great.

So, when I eventually get out of my PJ's. I'm going to attack the garden for a bit then I'll be visiting mum later. She'll want some cleaning doing I'm sure and she may want "a little ride out"

    So, food wise:
    B: HM fruit smoothie
    L: sandwiches
D: Something with chicken :D I'll have a think what as I cut the grass.

Hope you all have a good day and those with ailments or sick rellies get better soon.

  • Morning all. We're so lucky here, the weather is absolutely beautiful again, I can't believe it's a Bank Holiday! :rotfl:

We had a riotous day yesterday, my family all came over to visit for lunch so I was up busy cooking the Feast from an early hour. Had a lovely leg of lamb and all the trimmings so am now busy thinking up delicious dishes to make out of the leftovers (admittedly not many!). I think I'm going to do macaroni cheese with vegetables and salad out of the leftover veggies and OH will probably do something with the cold lamb (I just can't eat cold lamb, sorry, it's a hangover from my childhood days where I was literally force fed it on a Monday lunchtime, and tea time, and... you get the idea _pale_ )

Was hoping to go for a lunchtime walk to the nearest country pub for lunch but not sure that's happening now. OH has the lawn to mow and DD22 has the rest of her exam revision to do.

Think I'm going to change my user name since I think there are three of us now in various permutations, so I may be back......in a different form :rotfl:

Enjoy the sun, everyone! Have a great Holiday Monday.

    Hi guys

Can I ask you all a favour? - I am looking for a good inexpensive hotel to stay at in the Kent/E Sussex area. I know it is a large area but not fixed to any place - would prefer to be in the country but somewhere picturesque and QUIET!!:)

We will be shattered after a long drive and want one night.
I posted in the travel section and it's rather dead in there.
