Did you get a second JSA Budgeting loan (in one of the later posts you said you'd applied for one but there is also one listed in the first post - perhaps you went back and edited the first post though...)?
Anyway, I'm mainly posting in order to subscribe
Sounds like you're pretty determined to get yourself sorted. Good luck!0 -
Yep applied, No word back yet on budgeting loan I'm afraid.
Its another iron in the fire as they say, you can never be 100% you'll get it.0 -
Good luck Smithfield!
I'm a young solicitor from Northern Ireland. Been qualified just over a year now! Your views on the practicing law over here are entirely correct.
It's tough to get in and the rewards aren't exactly massive when you do, really.
Enjoy the new job.0 -

Congrats Colin, took me a while to accept I wasn't going to practice and try to move on, its a bloody grim situation, especially for ones starting now at 27k in fees and then the IPLS.0 -
Smithfield wrote: »You need to look at more saving tips on here re food. Seems you are still over spending.
My total food spent last week (actually 10 days) was 30 quid. Since then I've been pretty ill the past few days and havent really been able to get to the supermarket for a big shop. Once I'm better It'll be back to normal.
Where is NI? Did you not really want to practice law ?
Northern Ireland, Read what I said about your able to practice. A law degree doesen't make you a lawyer. You need to do a training contract as well as post grad study in England. I would say probably less than 20% of law graduates actually go on to practice.
why did a meet with Gf cost a tenner? does she know you are a bit skint?
Two coffee's, two buns. I'm afraid this is all a bit personal so I won't go further.
Sorry for firing question at you, dont mean to antagonise you .
I do know about law, having a family member in a senior position. I wish you luck with your future plans. just trying to help in my blundering way.0 -
Sorry if that came across as a bit grumpy, I'm just feeling a bit fed up with everything at the minute.0
