  • They are, you know, women arent perfect but I swear they are much more aware of whats going on around them and just generally more thoughtful of others.

I hope he gets sorted, my mum is a long term sufferer of depression and I know the sleeping lots is a big warning sign. Its almost like he need the cycle breaking to help him get back to normal. Maybe the christmas break will help?

As for my little xmas dilemma... well I have a large family and we're all pretty close so Im used to buying everyone something (uncles, aunties, cousins, cousin's babies etc) which is obv starts adding up even if you are buying little things. I have warned everyone though that I havent got much money this year so they've been very understanding, but I'd still like to give people something, possibly handmade..

The agents just arent getting back to me, its really frustrating and a worrying sign of things to come.. Ive just got to keep asking, or failing that try and speak to a neighbour.

Pencakes I've done mini hampers for OH's niece and nephews (and one of the newphew's long term partner, the rest are single or only just started seeing someone)

and this is an example of one I've done:

4x nail varnish set, £3 (Morrisons)
nail varnish remover, 59p (Home Bargains)
10 nail files (tub of 200 from Poundland)
Mini Perfume, Free (Boots, I just asked)
Hair clip (39p for pack of 3 large clips Home Bargains)
Disney Tinkerbell lip gloss 19p (Home Bargains)
    Mini Cava, 89p (Home Bargains)

    and another

Pink Fleece Blanket, £2.99 for 2 (Home Bargains)
10x Nail Files (taken from tub above and a bit of the silver ribbon wrapped round and taped to hold them together)
    Hand Cream, 79p (Home Bargains)

    and

    2 mugs, £1 (Poundland)
    Teabags, £1 (Poundland)
    Coffee, £1 (Poundland)
Tin of Danish Butter Cookies, £1 (Poundland) all wrapped in cellophane.

Does this give you a few ideas Pencakes? Nice presents don't have to be expensive. The fleeces were a good buy as they work out £1.50 each.

Morning All, I'm in a 'blah' mood today.

OH? Not chuffed with him and he knows it. Its something petty but I'm not happy. Last week I managed to get a tub of this specialist degreasing handgel in home bargains. Its normally about £4 a tub, in there its £1 so I bought one. OH was over the moon and took it into work to put in his locker. On Monday night he asks me to pick up another 5 for folk in his work, no problem I say. Didn't manage to get them on tuesday and he moaned, I said well it was pick that up or pick you up on time. So he reminded me on wednesday and I got them. Yesterday when I left for work (OH leaves before me) they were still in the hall. He's forgotten them. So this morning I say to him remember and take them with you. He says I don't think I'll bother. So (narked) I said well why did you get me to buy them then, what about the money? I'm not pleased he's harped on about something then suddenly it doesn't matter. Its me thats bought them and the stuff lasts ages so a tub will last about 6 months so by that reckoning I have enough for 3 years!

SS? I was gobsmacked last night, he's such an ungrateful little ****. Driving home OH says to me 'which cinema is the voucher your Mum, Dad and Gran got SS for for christmas'? I said its for the city one, why? OH says I thought it was for the local one (now he was with me when I picked it up so he knows its for the city one). I said no, there was no point in getting one for the local one as SS says he hates that cinema and won't go there, all the films he's been to over the past few years has been the city cinema. So later on, SS comes down the stairs and says he's off to work and OH calls him back and says "your cinema voucher for christmas from Unix's Mum, Dad and Gran is for the city cinema", he replies "well that's NO GOOD IS IT"! and storms off out the door.. I was speechless. I just stared at OH, I just didn't know what to say. OH got it out of him this morning that he's going to the local cinema this weekend, now considering he's said he doesn't like this cinema and hasn't set foot in it in 3 years, how was I to know? OH said give him a break as he's upset as his sister told him she didn't want to see him on her birthday she only wanted to spend it with her Mum (this is their Mum remember). Am I wrong to be angry about his outburst? My parents and Gran have clubbed together to get him this and some aftershave (about £50 in total spent), they never forget about him. We've tried telling him that his sister will just continually stab him in the back (and she has) but he's not listening and instead taking it out on us. My SIL has said he's having christmas dinner with them so he can have a drink, that I'm not bothered about. Its his attitude, he should be taking it out on who's making him feel like that i.e. his sister, not us. :(

  • Must be a guy thing!! My OH has had me running back and forth into Poundland to get bicycle lights and mudguards for his mate at work who apparently doesn't be near a Poundland. That's not my problem!!
This swarfega stuff (or whatever it is!), make sure you hide all the extra tubs so he can't decide after a while that he will take them into work ;)

As for the SS?? Ungrateful so and so!! I'd have done the same as you, and I'd be raging too!!

And I also agree that if he's annoyed or hurt or upset by his sister, that's no reason to take it out on everyone else!!

    *hug*

Think you need it today! :)

Thanks HAW. How are you? How's your weather today? The office where I normally am has snow, I'm out at one of the other offices today and as yet its not snowing but the sky is very grey.

Text friend who I made the scarf for. I did take a pic of it but since she comes on here sometimes (as a lurker) I won't spoil the surprise but I will post a pic of it once she's received it. I am so proud of it, is that sad? :o
