  • Afternoon!

The thought of christmas is scaring the pants off my to be honest! With the new job, break up, house moves etc I just cant afford it this year :(

I think Ive just got to be honest with my family. Its just annoying timing really!

My new job isnt very exciting unfortunately.. I know Ive got to give it time, but the lack of atmosphere is really hard to deal with. I suppose that is to be expected in a corporate environment...

Ah well, its better than having no job at all so I cant really complain!

If you want to do gifts for your family Pencakes you could make them, or just buy little things from say Poundland or similar. They do some lovely things. Just because it's christmas doesn't mean to say we need to spend a lot. Sometimes the best presents are the simplest or cheapest.

    Morning All, how is everyone?

Well I have £25 to see me through till I get paid tomorrow afternoon. This also has to pay for my travel etc, but this morning's train fare is already paid. I'll be glad to get paid. OH asked if I'd like to go out for dinner tomorrow since he's day shift we have a full weekend (if he's nightshift he doesn't finish till sat morning so we both get a short weekend), I said no. He was quite surprised but I said we both need to think about money. So I said if he fancied doing something, then I'd love a chippy tea :o (cheap date me :p). He's agreed and I'm actually looking forward to it. He has the first of his op's week after next and the 2nd the week after that. I'm taking the 2 days he's having surgery off and he's taking 3 days off each week. Because we're both temp workers we don't get holiday/sick pay so its a lot in lost wages so I'm trying to be sensible. He also wants us to drive in for both his op's which normally I wouldn't have a problem with but the place has no parking whatsoever and the nearest car park is an NCP so you can imagine the price! I agree it would be convenient getting into the car rather than onto a train but the cost in fuel and parking would far outway the cost of both of us going into the city and where he is having his op's is next to the train station.

I made sandwiches last night and goodness knows what possessed me but I made myself the same quantity as OH i.e. 4 sandwiches (4 slices of bread with filling between each pair of slices) which is double what I normally get. .....well I won't go hungry today!

Pay day today. Thank goodness! I don't get paid until later and my payslip doesn't come out until tonight so I know roughly what I'll get but not exactly.

On the debt busting front, I got £2.50 through (surveys etc) so that's been flung at Goliath and the total amended :D.

Since I have some time after work before I pick up OH I went to Home Bargains and B&M last night to get some Christmas bits and pieces.

    I got:-

    Storm 100ml Mens EDT £5.99 (B&M)
    French connection 30ml mens EDT £3.99 (B&M)
Projector Alarm Clock £5.99 (HB, seen these on all the gadeget sites for around £20!)
metallic wrapping paper, plain 5m, 59p (HB)
Large xmas gift bags 59p (HB)

The plain paper will also do all year but at that price I can't grumble. Will need to dig the receipts out of my bag and update my spreadsheet so I know what I have and for who and what I've spent.

Off for another work update. :(

that made me giggle HAW, how are you? I'm normally up at 5:45am and in work for 8am (depending where I'm working). Hoping to finish about 4:10pm today. I'm knackered!

  • Crikey!!! That's an early start!!!!

I'm Mon-Fri 9-5.30pm. Long enough day sometimes but it's routine so well used to it. Wish I started and finished an hour earlier right enough, especially coming into the winter! It's dark when I'm walking home!!! :(
