For your information I am NOT racist, but this country DOES have too many immigrants that takes away jobs for British people.
Secondly I do have qualifications, thank you very much!!
David Cameron doesnt know what every day life consist of; he doesnt have to worry about paying the bills or having debt.
And David Cameron doesnt know how hard life is on benefits!!
And YOU seem to have a bad attitude!!
In all fairness MUMZ2BEE I've heard that argument from my x hubby but then he's not worked nor looked for work since I left him. So I would say they are only taking jobs from people who want them.
It's the Polish he's got a beef against. Mainly I think because they've moved a load of them into his estate and it's now known locally as little Warsaw. Not saying it's right, because every Polish person I've worked with or know have been very hard working and more than pay their way in society.
I do agree we need to do something with regards to immigration, but I'm not talking EU countries here.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
I think that would include the likes of me too but I bet you don't complain when we are on high tax band and put a lot more into the pot to support those on benefits than we take out.For your information I am NOT racist, but this country DOES have too many immigrants that takes away jobs for British people.0 -
Excuse me, I have never called anyone a scrounger, it's a word you seem to use a lot when talking of others though. I have no objection to anyone who has a disability/illness getting the help they need. I just find it hypocritical of YOU, who likes to try and run everyone else down for claiming benefits when you claim them yourself.
Scrounger is not a word I use to describe anyone, more your word than mine.
Secondly how on earth can I be a hypocrite because I claim benefits myself when my sole state provided income is £260 a month SRP. Less than you claim per week I would suggest and I worked 40 years for my tiny stipend. I also pay £40 a week income tax so my net gain from the government is about £20 a week. Hardly bleeding the country dry am I?
Never ever claimed unemployment benefit, sickness benefit, maternity benefit, housing benefit or any other sort of benefit apart from family allowance.
I think the country needs more 'hypocrites' like me.0 -
Two statements that really don't go together!
The poster's complaint about too many immigrants did not single out any particular race. So how is it racist?
There are too many PEOPLE full stop on our little island and therefore imho we could do without loads coming from elsewhere and putting yet more pressure on our housing, health and employment.
Still, that is OT, so will shut up now.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

The fact that new entrants to our admittedly tiny island are not British by definition of them being immigrants makes complaints about them racist to my mind.
You and I both went to Spain to live and no doubt added to the pressures on their health services although of course we did have to be self financing in every other aspect.0 -

I understand that.
However, Spain has far less the population of the UK and is a much physically larger country. It is the sheer numbers of all people I am talking about trying to fit into the UK. Our healthcare in Spain was paid for by the UK. We were self-suppoirting in every other way
I don't really want to discuss racism though, it is OT. I just wanted to say that I didn't think the poster's comment was racist. It suggests foreigners, yes, but not a particular race.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

OK, xenophobic rather than racist - still undesirable.0 -

.
I agree.
As an aside, it always amazes me how Brits living in Spain, France etc don't consider themselves to be immigrants but ex pats - I expect you've noticed that.:)0 -

I was an immigrant in Spain and never expected to be considered anything else. In fact I remember another British person getting quite upset when I referred to us as immigrants - she somehow thought we were different.
I wish I had never said anything about racism - all I meant was that our little island has too many people already so could do without any more. That is honestly all I meant. Nothing else. I apologise if I have offended anyone.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
