Not a rotten sandwich either, we also pay the 'John Lewis', list for furnishing apartments and their rents through taxes as well. I worked in MOD for a few years, the benefits received from the tax payer is huge.
The wine cellar below the houses of commons is worth millions.
On another quick note, how many people know that David Cameron claimed DLA for his disabled son, Ivor, and he is a multi-millionaire. I remember his interview, and him saying how complicated the forms were. So, I and my husband paid our taxes towards his DLA for his son but I suspect he has much more money than us.
Never trust a word any of them say, red, blue or yellow. Bunch of day light robbers.
DLA is for the disabled person, not his/her parents. As far as I know David Cameron's son isn't a multi-millionaire. Now if Cameron claimed carer's allowance....0 -

Actuallly, the fraud figure of 0.5% is based on research by the DWP, not by "detected fraud".
An ex-HMRC man said on TV that if all tax fraud were detected and stopped, we would have no deficit.0 -

We would, because all the companies told to cough up wouldn't make a profit and they would offshore. Better to get 30% of something (plus employment of uk citizens) than 50% of nada, plus the JSA of all the employees that have just been sacked.
Why do those who didn't work hard at school and want a free ride think that me and other higher rate tax payers should have to pay for their poor life choices?0 -

I know have three disabled children myself, plus I have MS, (retired Army and look after my own children, thank you.) but this smacks of 'were all in this together, I'll claim it anyway'.
Bit much for anyone (don't care which party), who preaches of people needing to share the pain, and disabled people being critisised and persucuted by the government employed ATOS to have claimed it himself when his family obviously did not need it. Could of left it not claimed and had the high moral ground.
My opinion and I have no political cares, there all intelligent idiots!.Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74

DC's son getting DLA is pretty well known as he made a lot of political points out of it. However, as he's such a liar, perhaps he never really claimed it at all?;)0 -

You think I'm on benefits, want a free ride, and didn't work hard at school?
Think again.
You think I'm the only hard worker etc, who believes in welfare? Think again.
Here is one of manyIn a civilised community, although it may be composed of self-reliant individuals, there will be some persons who will be unable at some period of their lives to look after themselves, and the question of what is to happen to them may be solved in three ways – they may be neglected, they may be cared for by the organised community as of right, or they may be left to the goodwill of individuals in the community. The first way is intolerable, and as for the third: Charity is only possible without loss of dignity between equals. A right established by law, such as that to an old age pension, is less galling than an allowance made by a rich man to a poor one, dependent on his view of the recipient’s character, and terminable at his caprice.
Clement Richard Attlee, 1st Earl Attlee, KG, OM, CH, PC, FRS; Haileybury College, Oxford.0 -
The guy didn't ever intend for the system to be as it is now. It's well documented. Attlee would be turning in his grave right now.
I also don't believe in your mantra and neither it seems do a majority of those who actually pay for the socialist cesspit this country have become. Thinking you have a higher moral ground gives you no right to demand higher taxation from a section of society that already pays more than its pound of flesh.
The higher moral ground that I believe to be true is we shouldn't be burdening future generations with excessive debt interest, capital repayment of this debt and reduced investment opportunity for national infrastructure, be that roads, power or education, to fund the lifestyles of what are in the main, worthless lost causes.0 -

But he's claiming it for his son, not himself. It's his son's money. Perhaps you use your kids DLA as your own income and so judge others by your own standards?0 -

But don't you think that Attlee, Bevan et al would be revolving in their graves if they could see what the Welfare State had become?0 -
