I would put some of cupcake comments in that group.

    Edit - Well said loobylou232

    Huh?

Am I not entitled to pose questions or offer opinion?

Post one - I was uncertain about purchase given the upfront payment and no guarantee.

Post two - a twitter conversation which made me wonder......and still does!

Post three - an apology and clarification of my concerns.

Post four - having to defend myself against criticism, of daring to post the above!

Not once have I slated the company, cast aspersions on their staff or been derogatory in anyway. Just questioned the method of advertising this 'deal' by offering incentives on Twitter and posing a warning regarding the obvious discrepancy between payment and delivery times.

I wish I'd not bothered raising my concerns, which incidentally only now feel even more justified :(

I was not talking about you when I commented it was more cupcake, every comment was negative with no reason except she/he thought it didn't feel right.

Am I not allowed to ask questions? State my feelings? Offer opinion?

And do read back. Not negative, just factual about the obvious issues with schemes which ask for payment up front and a long wait for delivery. Again, Farepak anyone?!

P.s. Post five, again to defend myself from being called negative, which is ironic because now I really do feel negative!!

Before anyone goes about bashing the company, take a look at their Twitter account: https://www.twitter.com/TheNHCompany They have over 10,000 tweets and over 6,000 followers. The conversation on Twitter that has been pointed out only tells us that they wanted to get the deal on MSE. And plenty of people have obviously been interested in the deal, myself included.

Someone upthread said they have ordered and been happy with their order. They would hardly have a massive Twitter following if they were ripping everyone off. You will also see that their tweets go back a long time.

As far as I'm aware, if you pay by Paypal you are very much protected. I have been ripped off by people before and got my money back through Paypal.

I agree that if you aren't interested in the offer then don't use it. Simple.

i also took up the 12 hampers for £79.99 deal and they have been of excellent quality and arrived on time. there was someone on the original post and someone on this post that stated they live near the physical store and have been there, neil has given excellent customer service which has also been pointed out by a few people here. in the old thread someone mentioned that it was only the website that was new not the shop, i don't know if that's true or not but i'm happy they seem to be handling the mse onslaught very well which can be very unexpected, just think about aprooved food, who, by the way, really have their act together now!

i'm happy with what i took up with them, if i hadn't already bought all my presents and wasn't going to someone elses house for christmas this year i might have gone for this deal too, i'm reading this thread because i was curious.

i understand people being cautious and that's fair enough. i think though that sometimes the smell of fear marks a company unfairly, poor neil had a lot of unpleasantness to deal with with the last deal so i actually applaud him for having the courage to do it again here!

they are a small company yet, i'm hoping people will take a chance, or perhaps discreetly choose not to give them a chance, i'd like to see how far they can go, as their hampers are lovely and for what they are are a far better deal than i've seen other places do their hampers. i'm watching this space...and enjoying the yummies in the hampers i've had from them so far. best wishes neil!

(and no, i've nothing to do with this company ;))
  • Evening all,

I too took up the 12 hamper deal recently, and am also very happy both with the products and the service.
I am happy to see a guy who is obviously working hard to build up his business, and also recommended this new deal to my sister, who purchased it.
I am going to the ideal home in november, so will look out for his stall. I would also order from them again.

    HTH

  • I have been in the shop!

It is right by my kids school. The shop is small and cute and lovely - and I will be getting some other xmas gifts there (they do small jars of chutney and such which are lovely <3) and I bought the previous hamper deal and have loved my hampers so far. Don't judge a company just because it is small!

It's actually on Caister high street - the main road running through Caister, it's set back just a little, small triangle roof shop. Near where the old hall and lidls is and by the co-op :)

It might be well-established. He could have been running it as a non-limited business before setting up the limited company. OK, the company is not well-established, but his business model might be.

Just to add my thoughts! I bought the last offer from them, and was initally worried after I had placed my order, as there were negative comments on that thread. However, I have had the two picnic hampers and 2 Thornton hampers, and I have been very happy with them. There was a slight issue with one of the hampers - I emailed Neil, and he got right back to me and sorted it out.

I would buy from them again
