Thanks for all the replies - I hadn't realised there had been so many!

I ended up cleaning living room, kitchen etc. because I didn't want my mum to come home to a big mess. I piled all of sis's clean stuff up, and left all the cat pee stuff outside. I was hoping she would deal with it, but she just dumped more, so she's clearly a hopeless case.

This is a chronic problem, and mum regularly threatens to fill up bin bags with her stuff and chuck it all out, but sister would have a major tantrum, so it hasn't happened yet. Her bedroom floored is literally carpeted in clothes and she uses her bed as storage space, so I don't know how she sleeps. I will hopefully be moving in to my own place soon (hence living at mum's) and I can. not. wait!

PS. Yes, cat pee does reek. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, cat still thinks he needs to pee in corners of rooms occasionally :(

And there lies the life long problem that is your mothers doing: threats that are never followed up and cow towing to her daughters tantrums.
Well done for thinking of your mum and cleaning up OP: hope you get your own place soon!

Sounds like the sister and cat are competing to mark out the place as their territory!

I would say do it and let her have the tantrum. When it happens, excuse yourself and go for a walk.
