Been called for medical - not happy

  • I quite agree about the panic / paranoia of these medicals. I know when I went for mine in July this year, I was totally convinced that I would be failed, but instead I passed and got put into support group straight off. But then I was not being re assessed, just assessed as this was my first time, but I too had mine ended 1/2 hour into it. The Doctor said that she could see how I was struggling to get around and just how weak I was. So I guess I passed the imaginary wheelchair test as well.

I havent read the whole thread but if someone is that worried about the assessment, maybe they know deep down they don't qualify.

What a stupid, spiteful and ill thought out response

I have requested for the hurtful post to be removed!!

Its comments like this which don't help the situation; people come on here for advice and not to be critizised!!

This person clearly doesn't like people being on benefit.

I've even heard of one man who's (non) impotency problems were mentioned. Mr. X has no problem in getting and maintaining an erection.... Now, sorry, but !!!!!! has being able to get and maintain an erection have to do with being able to work? Yes, ok, some medical problems can cause impotency, but just because it's the one part of the illness that doesn't affect you, doesn't mean it should be brought up in a WCA. It's really not work related unless he was a gigolo or fancied going into this line of work

So I would imagine reading some of the stories on here, and in the press, are the reason why people are so scared of going for the WCA.

    Scared me stiff..Reading that.

I'll put that as a sticky around my house when my reassessment comes up. It's as ridiculous as saying if someone is worried about a job interview then it must be because they think they shouldn't get the job. I presume your understanding of mental health problems hasn't quite reached the section on anxiety disorders.

I've always been open about the fact the medicals always made my MH worse, necessary as they were, despite always being put in the support group (my thinking tended to be if i was found fit for work i would have to kill myself as i wasn't at the time as documented by psych and MH team fit for work) Logically i had no reason to worry but mental illness isn't always logical.

I read this site with interest. I just scored 27 points - should I jack in my 60hr per week job now??
You had me at your proper use of "you're".

lol... I wouldn't advise that until at least you've discussed it with your doctor. If the doctor suggests you do then return for advice.

YES!!! but to be fair the 'indignant of tunbridge' also need their outlet and this site is a lot more satisfying for them than the daily fail comments section.

Actually, it's usually the claimants on here who post Daily Mail type comments about" immigrants taking all the jobs" etc. In fact, if memory serves, it was the OP herself who made a point of saying she was "white British" so your DM jibes are aimed in the wrong direction!

Perhaps if MSE itself stopped posting discussion threads on here, people might remember that discussions aren't allowed?
