I use cloth nappies made this error
It strips absorbency from towels and reduces the fibres0 -
Do your towel wash last and hang out on the line as late as possible whilst still allowing enough time to dry. The moisture in the air in the evening helps 'soften' the towels.0

I do mine on the line until dry, then put them in my tumble dryer for 5/10 mins to soften.0

Hello everyone, I wonder if you can help.
Our tumble dryer has stopped heating and whilst we decide whether to dispose of it or try to fix it, our clothes are drying around the house.:(
We have clearly been spoilt with soft fluffy warm towels straight out the tumble drier but now they are crusty and stiff its the one thing we all dislike.
I just wondered if anyone has any top tips to bring back fluffy towels without using a tumble dryer?
Thanks:D0 -

Talk about great minds and all that! I was thinking of posting the self same question mummypops! All this drying over the radiators this winter has played havoc with my towels. So thanks and thanks Pink too!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I love crusty towels! Am I the only one? (I am the only one in my house but given the choice between fluffy towels or a 30pcm decrease in the gas and electric bills, DH capitulated very quickly).0

Try pegging them out when its looking like rain and leave them to get wet through with rain and then dry on the line - rain water is very soft & really helps soften any crispy ones:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls
