Would it be possible to have a complete set of whatever you need in the flat, so you can just travel with hand luggage?
In theory yes. In practice we are letting the flat out some time soon, so there is little space where we can store stuff securely. We do leave enough toiletries there so that if we ever had a short trip we could do hand luggage only without worrying about the UK airport liquid restrictions.
We are still at the point where we are taking out stuff to the flat so need the cases. This time we went out with 4 full cases and came back with 2 full cases and 2 empty ones.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Do I spend too much time on this website? I had a dream last night that Halifax had announced they were going to be marking down their stock of unsold repossessions and that I needed to rush to be the first to post it on this board under the headline 'Timber' but that the computer kept freezing preventing me from posting.*

I find spending time on this website rather stimulating and it gives me a great diversion from keeping the bungalow spick and span whilst waiting for prospective buyers to arrive, last week we had four viewings and one the EA called on the 'phone to ask if he could bring someone around in twenty minutes, so we have to be on our toes so to speak.
Lovely to see the temperature rising above zero where it has been this past week. I even spent some time in the garden this morning hoeing the flower beds.
I was fortunate to win a bid on Ebay for a ramp for our German Shepherd and it arrive this morning and Tasha will be delighted being able just to walk into the car with ease.
The ramp is a Tri-Fold Pet Gear which trades in our local Pet Shop at £89.99 and we got it for £29 + £12 carriers charge. So we are delighted with the bargain.:)0 -
Bertie, with reference to your Good Samaritan bit, doesn't often happen out here, but in London dh and I had a strictly not in the house rule. When I was house bound it was very hard to see when some poor soul wandered into our rather 'salubrious' street with little. We had lots of sleeping bags once upon a time but dh used to take one down for me each time, and when we ran out blankets. When he wasn't there the odd job man who worked every morning at the posh house opposite would run up and grab one from me for them, and leave me his dog to play with for a while.
Dh gives food, but on more than one occasion has had offers rejected because the people ' don't like that flavour' or something similar.0 -

Please tell me you mean the time restriction is to use a computer, not for access to the library.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. They certainly do not have a Community Spirit in this area PN.:(0 -
Have you rebuilt the empire already PN? If so maybe next week we should meet half way for a coffee (I'll treat you). It's a shame spirit has one of those job things, she is local enough too.
. Do you get a working day off spirit? Oh, alternatively, I have to drive to the south east edge green place sometime very soon....

You might regret this as .....I have Thursday and Friday off this week.
I am not too upset about having a job ...keeps me out of mischief and a roof over my head.0 -
