Sold. I hope your salary expectations are "realistic".

Depends if you expect me to work my contractual hours or more :D

Work your contractual hours? What do you think this is? The private sector?!? At least half your time would be spent "working from home" And when you were in the office the internet is a big place and someone needs to read it.

You do something financial, don't you, chewy? And missk is a scientist. I would have thought her experiences of salary would be "realistic" compared with yours.

That's the trouble - because it is financial sector, everyone has unrealistic salary expectations. Secretaries think they should earn £10k more than they would in any other industry because they're typing letters which they don't understand but which mention the word "bank".

Just got back from 3 great days' holiday here. MSE'ers will be pleased to know that our wedding anniversary coincides with the 35% off period! It's our one big treat of the year, as we don't really go in for exotic foreign holidays.

We love the walking round there and in the grounds. Yesterday, we did 8 miles, which is not too bad for a couple of unfit old fogeys.

    Happy anniversary GDB

Definitely no weekends or out of hours (unless you count having to work after 3pm as out of hours).

I think there is a course about lifting boxes that you can go on and you will be forced to spend hours pointlessly learning about DPA and FOIA.

Biggest issue of the moment is how to prevent the LL twigging I lost my job ... as I park outside their kitchen window :)

Have you got an AST? If so, it shouldn't matter whether you've lost your job or not - the house is yours for the duration of the contract, I think.

No, definitely not a myth. I had a 6 week summer holiday job in 1990 when I worked contracted hours. So such things really do happen.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
