I am planning on combining the topcashback (£2 off £10) and Amex (£15 off £60). Just trying to work out when to fill up to get the best benefit without actually running out of petrol
I hope you arranged the Ferrero Rocher in a nice pyramid. In my (and my brother's opinion that is the ONLY way to serve Ferrero Rocher). We also trot out the 'Monsieur, with zeez chocolates you are really spoiling us' (complete with terrible miscellaneous continental accent) alarmingly frequently, and in relation to mostly non-chocolate things. We find it hilarious
Already done the shell amex 4square but bought vouchers as the petrol there is too expensive - they do next, itunes, debenhams etc so with £50 for £35 x2 for self and DW we were able to settle her post xmas sale account. There is a week to do the petrol, we have a topcashback account each so £10 tonight and £10 later in the week for another £2. First time I have ever put less petrol in the car than filling the tank.I think....0 -
I made OH a beautiful handcrafted card. It was fashioned out of the box which my replacement Internet banking token came in. What girl wouldn't be impressed!0

I'm glad you are getting your moneys worth on your expensive AA however I agree with Bertie that you need to make this the garage's problem not yours, even if the battery is not covered in the small print of the warranty they should change it as a good will gesture.
Hmm - Halfords batteries are about 50% more than places like Eurocar parts with a suitable discount code and I suspect MsK or MrMsK should be able to change the battery. Check you have the radio code first though.NP straw poll then. get a new battery on my own dime or try and ring the garage?
If ringing the garage, what would you say? It's not covered by their warranty, says so on the paperwork (but it's only been 2 weeks since I've got it and the AA man said it needs replacing imminently which means he should have known about it)0 -
Today is a big day for our household as we will be having a visit from the EA to take pictures / measurements of our property to go onto the market for sale.
We have spent almost the past year finishing the many projects that we had started both in the home and the garden over the past four years.
So we will be putting out of sight non essentials and my OH has already started in preperation for the mid-day deadline.
I just wonder how soon it will appear on Rightmove and the other many portals that it will be advertised on.
So the viewings will be starting soon hopefully and we are thinking positive and wondering where the road will take us because this will be a Sale before Buy approach, in other words there will be No Chain to hinder anyone on our part of the bargain.
Let the adventure begin...:)0 -

The garage could have been unaware of the battery condition at the time of sale because they maybe handling a lot of cars and it may have slipped through unnoticed, no excuse for them really as it should have been checked but mistakes can be made.
Do not buy a new battery until you have given them a chance to explain or help.
If ringing the garage, what would you say? It's not covered by their warranty, says so on the paperwork (but it's only been 2 weeks since I've got it and the AA man said it needs replacing imminently which means he should have known about it)
Just be nice to the garage man and ask him for his advice and then see what he says, it would not be in your favour to raise your voice and complain more to say that you have a problem and need his help, he may then say that the battery is not under warranty but seeing that it has only been a couple of weeks since you purchased the car he could give you a new battery at cost price.
A new battery would then have something like a three year warranty + on it so then it would give you more confidence.
I hope that you will have a pleasant outcome.:)0 -

Ah, that's sweet.
We used to have serious double figures of dogs, and tbh, I do not miss that at all. My ideal number is two, but that needs a third for 'overlap years':(
It's interesting having a very different dog.
He has two girls here, both about to come into season and he knows he should be excited, but not exactly why.0 -
I don't follow racing anymore, but I hope someone has made the appropriate joke about the horse 'beef or salmon'.0

misskool, I'd go with Bertie's approach, if only from the nothing ventured, nothing gained approach. Our fitter at work has a sideline of doing up vehicles and selling them on and he goes through everything, including batteries, so whilst the garage may not strictly have had to check the battery, you could try appealing to their better nature on that score.
lir, I have 6 at the moment ( four different breeds) and most of the time they aren't a problem, but I think there will be a lessening of numbers down to 2 or 3. One is just wrong, but 6 is definitley my maximum.
I missed what breed Kiwi is - Stella and Ruby are convinced they have spotted schnauzer there.0
