A couple of weeks ago my OH and I we went to visit SB at Portsmouth Uni' and we took along our pet Tasha so that all the family would be together but we came across a problem trying to get Tasha back into the Mazda 2 because her back legs are giving her a few problems, after all she is over 12 years old and weighs about 27Kg, we did manage in the end but now think that we will have to get a ramp for her.

We try to lift her up but she does not like anyone handling her in her nether regions so we will have to try and find somewhere on the internet that can supply a ramp that is strong enough and will fold to be able to fit in the boot.

We don't want to get one that springs otherwise she may not want to walk on it and we do not want one that acts like a spring board otherwise we will be in big trouble with her.

I will google a dog ramp and see what I can find.:)

    .

Do you remember when mobiles first came onto the market they likened to a house brick and would most certainly ruin the line of your suit.;)

It's a problem. Dog dog is forty kilos, big dog has a propensity to hold weight and has weighed over 80k. Dog dog and I are well coordinated and when she needed help in we would count down and she would hop and I would give her a boost. I can just carry her when needed, but it kills me (this is awful, I used to carry a lot more!)

But big dog....she is neither cooperative nor light enugh. Dh can lift her, but I dare not even try.

We have a ramp, but she will not use it. I end up parking near things with high surfaces or mounds behind them, so it's an easier step in and out.

If Tasha is in anyway unsure about surfaces wild horses would have a job to move her especially when she digs her paws into the ground and refuses to move an inch, we wonder sometimes how she was treated when a puppy and maybe this has something to do with her nervousness, she dislikes men 100% and although we bonded at our first meeting she growls and shows her distrust in any man that comes near her.

She spent six months in the RSPCA Rescue Dog kennels poor girl. Not the best starts for her but she survived until we came along.;)

    Tasha sounds sensible. ;).

Big dog used to hate wooden floors but as her confidence grew so ha her delight at skidding on wood or laminate. Dog dog used to like to 'sufr' on the wood floor where we used to live, by running in, jumping on a be and skidding down the hall way into the kitchen.

Funny you should speak of Laminate because our kitchen, which is a Galley shaped and 10m long and the floor is totally made of laminate and Tasha thought that it was a bob slay run and enjoyed sliding the full length, we put rubber back tiles on top of the lovely floor to take away that very effect before someone got hurt. So the advantage now is that the next owners will have a choice of flooring. Life is so much fun with pets:)

I've always had good service from canine concepts and they have reviews on the products that they sell, which might help you pick a suitable ramp. Would nibbles of her favourite food spaced along the ramp encourage her?

I remember getting our first mobile for one of the vans, when they were fitted into the vehicles in the early? 80s. It was about £2.5k and came with a lease agreement. When they no longer had to be fitted in, my first got carried round in a Tesco carrier bag:o

What a good idea Tasha wil do almost anything for food, she is quite sharp at working out what our next move is going to be, so thank's for that idea.:)

The sun is so well received here. Having washing on the line has never before felt so triumphant!

My biodisc is being emptied soon so I am doing loads and loads of laundry.

Only thing is ofcourse, you see how grubby your windows Are on a day like this.
