I didn't realise that people chipped cats ( sorry ) and had been feeding a stray at work for a few months. Christmas approached and so I took him home, where he happily resided ( well as happily as you can with 6 dogs ), for 6 months until I needed to get him vaccinated to go into a cattery for a few days. Turns out he was chipped, I was:o:o:o. Made the vet swear that we had only found him a few days before to the owners.0 -
Our pet is a Alsation x Border Collie and we found her on the internet and chose to go to Weston Super Mare to the RSPCA Rescue Service to collect her, we were told that she had been chipped and when they tested her there was no sign of one being fitted. That was in 2002 when she was about two years old.
She was in a terrible nervous state when we collected her so we have never fitted one but we will comply and have one fitted.0 -
It shouldn't be too much stress to her, unless she is very nervous at the vets. It's no more than an injection to a medium sized dog; the smaller dogs can find it a bit painful sometimes. I've always had mine chipped just in case they escape.0

Amongst my kids generation it is a complete non-issue. My parents in-laws have a problem with it and my grandparents (now long gone) weren't convinced that gays really existed.
This Old Codger think's that any Government getting involved with these issues is likened to walking on thin ice and very dangerous because there will be no winners.
Throughout history and in virtually all human societies marriage has always been the union of a man and a woman. Marriage reflects the complementary natures of men and women.
I just have not changed my views about the subject and never will, maybe I am totally out of date.;)0 -

Thank's for the information...
She still is terribly nervous when we take her to the vets maybe she remember the operation to have a tomour removed that returned a couple of years ago, and she went through it all again. She dislikes men immensely but she has gained the trust of our local vet and she trusts him 100%.:)
I must add that she is in good health at the moment although I think that she may have some aches and pains like yours truly.0 -
A civil partnership does not offer all the legal and financial options that marriage does. If you fall ill abroad, under a civil partnrship you don't ahve the rights that a married couple do and from a financial perspective, you don't have access to your 'spouse's' pension.0 -

Oh, it is a whopper of an injection, most notice. (dog dog is a greyhound, not known for being stoic and amazed everyone when she was totally blas! about the whole thing, but kiwi fruit screamed like a big girls blouse). Even my horses who take standard jabs well have all 'evidences their dislike) even if politely, at the microchips.
She could however be chipped at home which might significantly help her and I believe it's a short term pain for a significant safeguard I would not wish to be without.0 -

No, I would say it hasn't been virtually all societies at all, nor continues to be a man and a woman. and complimentary? Tell that to women in countries with very much fewer or no rights, to those who exist in relationships where abuse reigns. And frankly, while I like historical perspective I relish modern improvements and insight. It would be ideal to strive for the best balance of both leaving the crud of all to one side, or for people to self impose but not impose upon others. In my opinion.0 -
