We are so fortunate that SB is not so far away as she could have been because she was offered places at Birmingham Uni and one in Buckinghamshire.

Travelling by train can be expensive also time consuming if delays are experienced.
We're lucky in that DD was offered places in the North the midlands and Wales but got into a course she wants in London.

But she lives out about 20 miles away. We see her back here occasionally and her mum meets her when her work takes her over that way. Do miss her and she misses having house elves who do the laundry etc. :D

I can confirm that laundry can travel 200 miles. But the train can be a pain. Time before last his journey was delayed by over an hour, though getting the train fare back was some compensation.

Just watched a film.... and didn't get the ending..... don't understand the point of the ending/whole film.

The Sixth Sense: boy sees dead people, bloke is his therapist... boy comes to him as an adult and shoots him.... then the bloke is a ghost.

So ... er ... what was that all about then? What was the point?

I don't know the film - I generally avoid anything with Bruce Willis in - but wikipedia has a plot summary that may help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sixth_Sense
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

It's a cracking film- I remember listing it in my top 5 in this thread(or was it a previous one?).
I'd maybe better delete this before anybody gets the film ruined

She was so pleased to hear how youngest has got on and was also able to offer me some hope, her son is now married, with children and a successful business, something she thought impossible all those years ago.

That must have been very uplifting.

You see... this is why I dislike watching films .... I rarely understand them and certainly don't want to be watching them a 2nd time (with an explanation) in case I still don't get it. That Darko film.... 4x, with lots of googling/reading .... still didn't get it :)

You are not the only one.

I'm always asking questions in films. Sometimes I still need it all explaining at the end.

I try to stick with "films for idiots". Just jaunty, fluffy stuff.... without any depth or particular story line. At least I know I'll be able to enjoy watching something I can understand.

    I think it's a woman thing.

I have heard countless complaints from men that women keep asking:

    1. Who's that?
    2. What's going to happen next?

    during films.

I just filter out what people say if I'm engrossed in a film and Mrs Generali doesn't do that anyway.
