My last house (that I owned) had no curtains (lack of funds) and the few lampshades I did have were either left in the house, or I bought for £3 :)

I think I have the most stark house of the NP lot here.

we have oak floorboards or cream/oatmeal carpet with magnolia walls. Curtains are marginally floral but nothing too bright. Cutlery is stainless steel solid and crockery is solid white.

    :o

I have white tiles in my bathroom. and black sparkly granite in the kitchen.

    Sounds lovely.

Well I don't have a house at all yet!

My parents bought a new build in '97 - the walls are still all magnolia. I briefly persuaded them that the hall should be a soft yellow (needed repainting due to scuff marks), but it is once again magnolia.

I decided a while back that my lounge will have magnolia walls and deep red and turquoise accessories. Other than that I think the rooms will have coloured walls.

Not that I have spent too long thinking about this you understand :rotfl:

    I rented... no choice.
I have carpet in the living room/bedroom; tiles in the bathroom; strip of lino in the kitchen. Cream walls. Small white curtains in bedroom; one small white bline in kitchen and bathroom; beige curtains in living room.
Cutlery is in the drawer - a set I bought for £2 in about 1979 that are still immaculate + a set I bought in about 1995 for not a lot more.

My belongings/furnishings are more "bleak" than any other description.

No lampshade/whatever as it's wall lights here.

According to the bank's fraud department, you should hide away cash, cheques, passports, driving licences and jewellery.
Probably best in a locked briefcase/holdall lobbed in the back of a cupboard.

We haven't done anything decoratively to main house since you were here. Old part is still mainly bare plaster.
