I might push the boat out a bit as I've had a great week this week.

The new job is going really well and I'm really enjoying it. It's great to go back to a job that's a genuine challenge where I'm doing something different every day. For example on Friday I arranged for EAs to organize 5 desk moves, summarized 2 80 page reports in 2 pages to be presented to the CEO and CIO of our large company and started writing a training course called 'Financial Products and Markets for the Uninitiated'. Love it. The money's pretty good too.

That's good news, gen. Summarizing things is one of the few talents I feel I have. And I enjoy it! I've a mate who works for a famous agency who finds it a chore, but I wouldn't.

Switching jobs sometimes feels precarious at first but it's usually a good move.

Irrelevantly, maybe have a listen to this and tell me if it sounds uplifting (apologies if you've heard it to death).
    take care!

Do they put it together for that price?

Nope. They drive it a little over 10 miles from their shop to my office. They even make me go to their shop to move it from their warehouse to their delivery depot!

For $120 I expect it to be delivered by a naked virgin.

Maybe their delivery charge is a standard charge irrespective of quantity of goods purchased.

My daughter SB purchased four multiple Book Shelf Cabinets three years ago and she has been delighted with them, they also came in flatpacks and had to be assembled. Which has its advantages because when we move, hopefully shortly we can if needed take them apart.

Hope that your Lady is not around when your choice of delivery person knocks on your door.:o

Just to give you a laugh, look what happened to this Edinburg motorist who moved barriers to park their car in what must have been their regular spot at the Rail Station...

That is how it works. Still $120 for a 10 mile trip is amazing! I drove round to the pickup bay and will drop it off at work tomorrow. It'll give the Generalissimos a chance to see my office which they like to do and the view is amazing! I'll post a pic when I get round to it.

Brilliant, it would be a German car (I'm not generally prejudiced but I reserve the right to be about drivers of German cars*). The Chinese do a similar thing to people that won't sell up so a road can be built e.g.

In all honesty, the property rights reasons that houses like this exist are pretty disgusting but it does look quite funny nevertheless.

Still feel eurgh this morning but less eurgh than I did last night.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I'm excellent at being a potted expert: I learn the basics very quickly but then get bored and CBA to learn the detail. This job is perfect for that reason alone!

I spent some time contracting (4 years-ish) so I'm used to changing jobs. I'd kinda given up on getting a good job again, I was just going to wait for Mrs Generali to get her career to a point where I could quit work entirely and then this job came along.

As Wozza Buffet says, I tap dance my way in to work.

Not a huge Coldplay fan TBH. This piece is used a lot as a background to sports highlights over here, especially when discussing beaten finalists/semi-finalists. I don't like or dislike it; I have Coldplay ambivalence.

Do you know if the piece actually follows a Gregorian chant or if it's just a pastiche?

Apparently Gregorian chanting was an amazing feat of memory as the music wasn't codified. It's rather like the oral history of Aussie Aborigines in that way. I've no idea whether that's true, it's just something I heard.
