Have any NP 'prepped' for snow?

I put the last of last years rock salt down on the path up to the chooks & bunnies.
Bought a new bag of rock salt.
    Charged the torch
Told Mr S to make plan B in case he makes it back from Russia at midnight tomorrow and if the taxi cannot make it along our roads so he will go to a hotel.

No stocking up though. Just normal shopping. We have tins in the pantry, meat in the freezer and assorted veg along with dairy in the fridge. Quite a lot of wine...

That is it. Feeling very grown up and sensible though (I think it was buying the rock salt that did it).
No snow here. . . I doubt there'll be any.

If it came then ... I've got long-life naan breads and rolls (vacuum packed)... and beans ... 6 eggs... noodles, pasta, rice, 2 tins of meatballs, mushy peas....

If the leccy goes out I'll just have a snooze.

    I'd get through OK.

We'd get through but I have menus planned which require shopping. An MSE er from another board might be coming to stay ( brave person) but think our planned activities will get snowed off, but still want to cook what I planned because it all sounds so yummy ( new cook book)

What goes in a power failure box please?

torch, matches, emergency number of electric board, telephone that works without electricity, back up battery for the iphone, phone numbers of 2 neighbours that may be stuck without power.

The duraflame (5 hours heat for the fire guaranteed to work from a single match.) is by the fireplace.

I have a plumber and an electrician booked for tomorrow morning, both courtesy of british gas homecare. What are the chances?

It's glorious here. It's going to be hot, hot, hot though! 37-39C in the city and even more out west. We're going to get a cool change later in the day thankfully.

I miss cold days, not short ones. I'd live in the mountains here.

How far off gritted roads are you? There are bound to be plumbing emergencies but I am guessing they have people on emergency cover and it things in....?

Dh has arrived home twenty four bottles of tobasco sauce, a yoga mat, two pairs of clients brand flip flops and half a dozen tshirts....same brand. I asked hi. What we are going to do with them and he is just thrilled it was all free.

Hmm - as a board I think we are a bit lost without our dedicated prepper to advise us how to prepare. I wonder how many assault rifles Viva is bringing back from the states?
    I think....
