Quite. Last post took me an hour. This quicker but slow. So am going to stick to reading for a bit.
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

It's much more difficult posting via a phone isn't it? I also find it challenging to thank rather than mark everything as spam.
Quoting only part of a post is nigh on impossible.
It took me about 5 minutes to post that...

Do you use Swype Nikki? Not sure if there's an Iphone version or not.

I find that really helpful and works well for texts and any input.

Would also drive me mad having no connection. I also find the bigger screen the better. Mobile is a bit fiddly for web pages.

I don't know how much the nice peeps know about bush fires but there are some pretty dramatic examples this weekend down in Tasmania:

    (not for the faint hearted)

Imagine listening to the news saying that the towns around you need to evacuate but you've left it too late, you have no choice but to stay where you are. You get the kids and walk down to the beach and stand up to your neck in water as the flames burn everything you and your friends own.

At least the lessons from previous years have been learned so we no longer have the situation where people are driving towards fires in an attempt to get away.

I think i mentioned before gen. My cousins good friend died as a firefighter in the big christmas bushfires a couple of years back. People need not only to think of their lives, but also those sent to save them.

Sleep varies - I am often awake in the night for a couple of hours and then sleep in a chair rather than go back to bed where I would still be unable to sleep. Hence a reasonable number of middle of night posts from me.

We have a tumble drier but dry outside on a retractable line as much as possible. When I used a whirlygig it was out of sight and out of mind and I would leave washing out for days:o. Partly why Mr S does the laundry.

In doors we will put an airer up in front of the Aga type cooker to dry clothes, and I fold T shirts/tops/jeans/tea towels/ bedding and underwear and 'special iron' them in top of the cooker lids - this is brilliant although I have scorched the odd thing. I hate washing drying on radiators - we used to have cardboard stiff socks when we were children.

We wash towels at least once more often twice a week and have different coloured sets so they all get changed and I know they are changed.

Well said. It astounds me that people set these fires deliberately.

It was a lovely day today, mid-high 20s and not a cloud in sight.

We decided to go to have a look at some more land so we went up to Murray's Beach. Now there's a nice spot, super awesome as the teenagers say:

    2007nyeswansea0201.JPG

The suburb is next to Lake Macquarie, a huge lake that is separated from the Pacific Ocean (Specific Ocean as many local kids prefer to say) by a huge and ancient sand spit. The water is calm and beautifully clear even after a month of the boaties flogging up and down on it.

We can buy 1/4 acre for about $200k, almost 1/2 acre for about $250,000 or we can buy 1/4 acre slap bang next to the lake for $400-600,000.

Are you deciding to stay in AUS long term?

It's a bit of a long commute to London.
