I was eating pie and chips, washing up/drying/putting away ... then scuttling up to my room and folding my dry bedlinen from the airer
I've been to storage today - now run out of carpet..... it's like living in cardboard city in here now! This room's way too small for my stuff and I leave it in boxes as there's nowhere to put it.0 -
Blokey silvercar! You just have more energy than the rest of us having restored yourself at second home.

So we are on MSE.
If I stick with British Gas my tariff goes up 7% in November. Or for no cost I can fix at 4% more until Nov 13 or at 10% more until Nov 14. So what do I do?
What about the Scottish Power Fixed, Is that still available?
I fixed with EDF Blue for the next two Winters. I'm afraid that's long gone!
Edit - Looks like it's still available.

Sheesh.
I just go by what looks cheapest on headlines/comparisons.
We only get electricity of course, but that's bg too silvercar. Have been a battle with them for ages about commercial v domestic rates. Over two years now, and they still send me commercial bills every now and again. They ALSo want insane numbers of metre readings, monthly I think.0 -

I know I could do better, but I stick with british gas and change the tariff whenever the current deal ends.
I read the meters monthly, submit readings and get 2x100 nectar points each time. At the moment I am on the online energy tariff - guaranteed 4% cheaper than the standard tariff, with a "free" energy smart monitor, and penalties to get out before feb 2013. Except they have offered free move to the 2 fixed options for now.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. too much faffing around and the more time I spend abroad the less energy I will use here, so like for like is impossible to commute. Plus DS2 would power shower 3 times a day if allowed and he is away at uni - partially balanced by DS1's inability to turn a light off.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Setting up home in another country must be an interesting process.Years ago I read a book about how subjective time changes speeds at differnt stages of your life, generally speeding up as you get older. Apparently one of the ways of slowing it down again is to learn a language and/or learn to live in another country.
Have you far-travelling NPs noticed this effect? or have purch, gen and sc all picked countries that are similar to the UK so they don't seem that different? Maybe israel's more different than oz as it's less familiar via telly and has its own language. America sometimes seems asfamilar as the UK with its exposure on the boxThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
All that tariffs decisions/changing is too complex for me... it'd lead to too much anxiety. I remember the days when you got gas and electricity - and didn't have to do any faffing!0
